Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Let's make a deal. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. Iran is disputing President Trump's reported claim that Tehran wants to make a deal to end the war. Foreign Minister Abbas Arachi says Iran never asked for a ceasefire.
We have never asked even for negotiation. We are ready to defend ourselves as long as it takes.
Chapter 2: What are Iran's current claims regarding the war and negotiations?
Ratchian CBS has faced the nation. Meantime, President Trump calls for U.S. allies to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz. And thus drawing a muted response, Fox's Dana Marie McNichol is in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He specifically called out China, Britain, France, Japan, South Korea and the UK. But the prime minister's office there says he and President Trump spoke this evening about the ongoing situation in the Middle East. No confirmation on if they are sending ships. In the meantime, Democrats are calling this war a war of choice with no coherent strategy or end.
The partial government shutdown for Homeland Security enters the second month with TSA agents not getting paid, which is causing call-outs and resignations and extremely long lines at U.S. airports. Fox's Chad Pergram has more from Capitol Hill.
Lawmakers deadlocked over dollars for DHS. Terrorism threat coupled with the DHS shutdown concerns travelers. Republicans blame Democrats for refusing to fund DHS, holding out for changes at ICE. Democrats proposed approving piecemeal bills to fund everything at DHS but ICE. However, Republicans say Congress must fund DHS.
As a whole, TSA agents are working without pay as sick outs and security lines grow. Democrats hope to at least pay TSA. Republicans ready to pounce in case something bad happens.
Members of the Coast Guard and Secret Service also not getting paid as U.S. faces increased threats during the war with Iran. America's listening to Fox News.
