Clinton says she never met Epstein and knew his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell as an acquaintance, and she said she's confident her husband knows nothing about Epstein's criminal background. Democrats on the committee have called for President Trump to be questioned.
Deposed Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has asked a federal judge to dismiss his drug trafficking case, claiming interference with his defense.

A third person has died following a shooting earlier this month at a Rhode Island hockey rink.
Pawtucket police say 75-year-old Gerald Dorgan died of his injuries after being shot by his former son-in-law at a high school hockey game earlier this month. Dorgan was sitting with his daughter.

A New Orleans judge scolded actor Shia LaBeouf for allegedly yelling homophobic slurs while hitting multiple people and ordered him into an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program after the film star was charged with two counts of battery over an alleged assault outside a bar during Mardi Gras. Police say LaBeouf dislocated one victim's nose.
The judge also ordered the actor to submit to weekly drug tests, including one administered on the spot in the courthouse.
