Chapter 1: What are the details surrounding Jesse Jackson's death?
This is a Fox News alert. A civil rights leader has died. I'm Dave Anthony, the Reverend Jesse Jackson at the age of 84.
That is the unfinished business that I'm about, fighting for equal opportunity for all Americans and peace in the world.
He was prominent in the civil rights movement for decades. Twice ran for president in 1984 and 88 and 2000, and Jesse Jackson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
His family announced his death in a statement saying Jackson died peacefully this morning, surrounded by his family. His unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and human rights helped shape a global movement for freedom and dignity. A cause of death was not mentioned, but Jackson had been dealing with several health issues.
That's Fox's Madeline Rivera.

Look at our top Fox News story. The Reverend Jesse Jackson has died a civil rights leader for decades. He twice ran for president in the 1980s. He was 84 and had been in declining health in recent months. His death comes hours after we lost a Hollywood legend, Dr. Robert Duvall.
Nobody. Has ever gunned down a New York police captain, never. It would be disastrous. All the five families would come after you, Sonny. The Corleone family would be outcast.
The Godfather films were among the 80-plus movies Duvall starred in. He won a Best Actor Oscar for Tender Mercies.
Robert Duvall will be remembered for incredible performances in many star roles and, of course, nailing this iconic line in Apocalypse Now. You smell that?
