What is humiliation? Brene Brown, the author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines humiliation as:The intensely painful feeling that we have been unjustly degraded, ridiculed, or put down, and that our identity has been demeaned or devalued.Almost everyone has experienced the sensation of being humiliated. It's a feeling of helplessness, embarrassment, and rejection. Humiliation can quickly determine how we view ourselves in the years to come. Dr. Cobb shares her own humiliation experiences and how they negatively impacted her life -- which extended to personal problems, eating disorders, and alcoholism.
