I think combined for the for the entire preseason, the Giants held opponents to just like 20 points or something like that. Uh it's like the lowest ever or something like that. So feels good. Feels good, man. Always feels good to win and always feels good to beat the Jets. But most importantly, for the context of the Giants and the preseason. So number one, good for Dominique Zaveda.
Uh we saw on the other side how Jason Sanders was trash and the Giants were right to cut him early. Three for three in this game, five for five in the preseason, had a fifty-three yarder. Every kick looked good. This guy was lights out all of training camp. We said it on uh you know this morning's episode where we talked about our 53-man roster, where I did worry going into this camp. I was like, I'm not a big fan of Ben's big a fan of the Ben Sauls. I wish they brought a vet in here to compete just in case Aveda was what he was last year in Michigan, where he, you know, he only made sixty five percent of Those kicks. Zaveda came out here and would have won this job about against damn near every kicker in the league this training camp.
I mean, every kick from 50 plus was good. Uh, some that were close, you know. I think he had a 60 yard and won the camp practices that I was at. Uh, he was lights out, and I'm excited for it, right? Maybe he turns back into a pumpkin or whatever, but like he won this job. Even if it goes bad, there's no way I'm walking out of there and being like, I can't believe they trusted this. Where years pass, you know, specifically the last two years pass where we're like, this is a bad plan that the Giants are going into the season with a kicker. Grow up, we talk about a pre show. It seems like every MetLife bowl, we're reading Jets tweets about how like we still need a damn kicker. It's a nice feeling going into the season, and we know how much of if he's a weapon it can be if he's able to hit these, you know, fifty plus yard or six.
