Donald Trump has ordered the removal of a Federal Reserve governor, as he steps up attempts to exert control over the US central bank. Mr Trump accused Lisa Cook of making false statements on mortgage agreements. Ms Cook said the president had no authority to remove her from her post and promised to keep carrying out her duties.
