Welcome back to the program. I'm super excited today. My friend Joey Coberly is returning for part two as we continue to crunch the numbers of what does it mean to know our numbers and understanding better the language of business. Joey has helped me and my small business all the way since 2020. Him and his wife Megan took over my books as my bookkeepers and have provided me great insights into my financial. goals and the vision for my company and They've helped me become such a better businessman. And so I'm very thankful and a better person, honestly. And it takes to be a better business person, I feel like we have to grow in our character, in our um focus and Everything like that. So anyway, let's dive right into it uh with my friend from Pensacola, Florida, uh who owns the landscaping bookkeeper, um, as well as he's a co-owner in the new lawn care launch company.
Paul Jamison 1:33
So without further ado, Joey Cobraly. So what's what's new with lawn care launch? Um, 'cause you and and Kevin Salters and and um your wife Megan and and the marketing, what's the marketing gal's name? Stephanie. Stephanie. Yeah, you guys, the fantastic four over there, you're you're helping a lot of small business owners. So explain what the um what the lawn care launch is and how people can get involved who who wanna understand their profits better and understand their numbers better.
Joey Coberly 2:03
Yeah, so Lawn Care Launch is owned by four owners. Uh, we're all really passionate about our different categories. You got me and Megan on the bookkeeping and financial side, then you got Stephanie, who's our marketing guru, and then you got Kevin Salters, who you've had on the show multiple times. He's our green industry guru. So you don't want to take lawn care advice from me, take it from Kevin. But basically You don't want to take it from Joey. I've seen your backyard. So no, my backyard looks horrible. Yeah, I I put no attention to Yeah. Um But basically we all came together. We wanted to make the best product for lawn care companies to help them scale for small for the small guys. And so we've basically built a feedback loop to where we're taking inputs from people in lawn care and building a product that would serve them best.
Joey Coberly 2:47
And so when we started, we didn't really know what it was. We're like, let's just tell us, you know, we had clientele. We're like, we can build this if you tell us what you need. And so um the that's that's been the past year. Um, so now we've basically come up with uh monthly recurring workshops that we run where we all sit together, we have accountability community and we work on planning our quarter out. So creating a marketing plan, uh learning what numbers to track. And we it's kind of like a study hall almost. And then every quarter we actually just sit down, we answer their questions. You know, I've got a question about this number I'm tracking, I've got a question about Uh what marketing strategy I should implement.
Joey Coberly 3:24
And it's all done in a group so that it's fun and it's not isolating because I think we all hate being isolated all the time, in our head all the time, not really know what direction to choose. So it's it's workshop based, uh, it's accountability based. Um we're gonna teach you to track all the numbers that the big dogs track so you create really good habits early on. Many guys track the wrong numbers. They They don't really know what to do. They kind of just do circles every year, every year's Groundhog Day. So yeah, it's uh monthly workshops with all four of us in there. And we teach and we hang out and we have a good time doing all the boring office work and we strategize.
