Welcome back to today's episode of the Green Industry Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Jamison. And today we're going to do some breakdowns of Napoleon Hill's famous books, including Think and Grow Rich. And his book that is honestly better than that he wrote 30 years later. grow rich with peace of mind. So if you're new to the program, welcome. I'm Paul Jamison. I started a lawn business back in 2011 and really fell in love with small business entrepreneurship. And these books have been very popular, specifically Thinking Grow Rich by so many entrepreneurs. over the years if you ask them hey what books have impacted your life many will reference the bible that's been the number one bestseller of all time and then you'll hear people mention think and grow rich by napoleon hill now napoleon hill is long gone i mean he he uh he passed away in the 1970s so something like that but it's very interesting because he he wrote the famous book think and grow rich in 1937 and
Paul Jamison 1:46
I'm going to share some takeaways from that book in today's episode. But then he wrote another book after about 30 years called Grow Rich with Peace of Mind. Because when he wrote his first book, it was this high octane manual for driving ambition and acquiring wealth. And it was what's the fellow's name? Andrew Carnegie was kind of behind the book. And Napoleon Hill did the research and all of this stuff. And the book is just very, very, very, very popular about acquiring wealth and having a burning desire for relentless ambition. you know, growing your career and having support groups around you and masterminds and all this stuff. We're gonna talk about that in today's program. But then when he got older in life, when he was in his eighties and he was facing death, he realized that he observed that basically all these people that he had known throughout the years that did have massive financial success, they actually ended up miserable, right?
Paul Jamison 2:55
A lot of them were physically ill, like they had money in their bank, but they didn't have a healthy body to enjoy it. And then worst of all, a lot of these folks were alienated from their families and they didn't have healthy, respectable family life. So he wrote a new book after 30 years called Grow Rich with Peace of Mind. And, um, that book focuses on how important it is to take care of your body. So his first book was all about get rich and here's how you do it. And that blueprint actually works. But then a second book was like, basically like, Oh man, I'm, I missed some important parts here of life. What's the purpose of being rich if you don't have physical health to enjoy it, if you don't have emotional balance and, um,
Paul Jamison 3:51
If you don't have your spiritual walk with the Lord properly aligned. So what I think we're going to do is a part two where I just unpack, grow rich with peace of mind, because there's a lot in that book about having morals and having balance and taking care of your emotion, taking care of your body. And it's just, it's just, it's an absolute masterpiece of a book. So we'll do a whole episode for that book, but yeah, With that being said, since Thinking Grow Rich is the more, I mean, it's probably the most famous business book of the last couple of generations. And there's a chapter, I was actually listening to the audio book this morning, chapter seven. of the audio book, there's a list of questions in there that are just so good.
Paul Jamison 4:40
And I was getting so convicted listening to them and honestly answering the questions. So I wanted to share some of those thoughtful, reflective questions with you on today's program because it really blessed me and I think it will bless you as well.
