Chapter 1: What events are being promoted at the start of this podcast?
Puns and dribbles, we are brought to you by our good friends at Four Puns. And we're in a live event.
an event so you assume it's going to be live uh at lander's pocket on thursday the 14th of may myself eddie tobler sebo up in brisbane ahead of magic round it's also going to be sebo's birthday so huge huge longest drive competition putt putt competition booze food good times few special guests yippin and yahoo look gonna be a lot of fun yeah tickets are in the bio Yep, that's right.
Tickets in the bio. If you want to come along, get involved. It's a great way to warm up, stretch the legs, as it were, for what is going to be a huge Magic Ram weekend. Get after it. You are listening to the Hellosport Podcast. What is up, punters and dribblers? Welcome back to the Hellosport Podcast. I'm Ian Wearing Bias. Thursday. Back from P&J.
We got back on Tuesday, so it's not really like we just got back, but it's our first proper pod back. Unless you include about even, obviously. I don't know. Gripping. Gripping stuff. Yeah. Well, technically, we did also release one with Michael Chambliss. This is great. Yeah, it's good stuff. How are you, mate? Good, mate. Got home last night and had a shower. Oh, did you?
That's crazy. What an adult mature thing to do after being on a plane for fucking hours.
You know, you fly back from PNG, two flights, got to fly through Brisbane. They're only direct to Sydney twice a week, so you're flying through Brisbane. You're sitting in a bar knocking back Tucky Wetwalls like they're going out of fashion. Like, you're dirty and you've been on your feet for a good part of the day and your ass, obviously, but you're dirty, right? Yeah.
So the first thing you want to do, the first thing I wanted to do, the first thing I thought about as soon as I got off the plane was I can't wait for a shower. It was numero uno. Yep. Nothing, nothing could have fucking stopped me from getting into that hotness, baby, into that warmth and just let it run down your body. Yeah, I can't imagine what sort of mindset you have to have.
And you just can't top it. You know, you just can't top a hot shower after a huge travel day before your head hits the pillow and you go off to Lolliland. Like I slept like a rugby leg log. Same.
Yeah.

Chapter 2: What was the experience like coming back from PNG?
Shell was the last. I was actually thinking and planning on having one, but so I had a couple of- It's not even something you planned for. It's just in there.
It's in the calendar 24-7.
It's always in there. Maybe something I was looking forward to. It's a reoccurring booking. I felt a bit grimy after a huge day of travel, fucking two planes and the rest. And then I was like, fuck it. I'm just going to get this vlog over and done with. Pulled myself a techie on the couch, pumped out the vlog.
poured myself another techie, ate a box of barbecue shapes because I was hungry, and then I was just scrolling on my phone and it got to about midnight and I was like, fuck. So what time did you finish the vlog then? You made it sound like you were vlogging until midnight and then you were just like, oh, I'm so tired.
No, so I edited for an hour when I got home and cleaned it up, finished it off, sent it off, and then I was like, I've earned a box of shapes and a couple of stiff techies. Yeah, you said that through a fucking 10.30. You had a shitload. Heaps of time. It's not about time. I mean, as you said, the shower could take 20 seconds, but it just got to that point where I was like, you know what?
Fuck it. I'm just going to bed. I'm that tired that I can fall asleep with this layer of grime on me. There are definitely times when I can't be fucked up a shower where I can get it, but not when you're stinky, dirty, fucking sweaty. I think generally speaking, people that don't shower before bed are sick fucks.
Really?

Chapter 3: Why is taking a shower after travel so important?
Yeah.
I never shower before bed. I shower in the morning when I get up. Right, and then you spend a whole day getting dirty and then you don't shower before you get in bed. That's it. Not showering in the morning is more reasonable because I showered before bed, I slept, I got up and I left. Yeah, that's right. That's right.
That's how adults behave.
That's right. That's right. Every adult has two showers a day. Do you know how dirty your sheets would be? No.
You wash them every day.
I don't shower in the mornings a lot of times. I shower. I love my morning shower. I sometimes shower in the morning. I'm mostly not.
Like if I go for a shower.
But I think a morning shower is. Well, no, because you're clean. I'm saying you don't need to have a shower in the morning. No, if you've been out in the world. You need to have a shower.
You need a shower.

Chapter 4: What are the differing opinions on showering before bed?
I'm saying it would probably be 99% shower. Like you've just got to be smashed to not have a shower after a big night.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because that feeling of like waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning or even like when you wake up at normal time, like 7, and you're not clean, you feel like a pig.
Yeah. Now we'll just put this up and we'll see if we have any answers by the end of the show because ā that's rocked me. What's been happening, mate? Mate, just got back from a state-sponsored trip. That's right. Propaganda tour, which it's funny because, you know, it was state-sponsored propaganda tour, but I don't feel like it was propaganda.
I feel like we were just seeing what they were doing. Do you know what I mean? It's like, yeah, it's really impoverished over there. And that's obviously. But we knew that though. But we knew that. Going in. So all it was, because that's what I'm trying to, I'm like, obviously you might be like, well, don't say anything bad about it. I'm like, well, it's not a whole lot to say bad.
It was just more interesting to see how it was looking or what they were going to be doing. The only contentious thing you could say is living in the compound won't be for everyone. Yeah. That's probably the most contentious thing I could say. Yeah. Like I think ā I probably think it's going to lean more towards people with families, I'd say, on the whole.
But if you want to go over there as a young kid and lock the fuck in, it would be super beneficial. You know what I mean? Just like locking on rugby league football at the highest level. Or even like Chamis was saying where it's like maybe ā there might be a higher turnover than most clubs because people come and they go, all right, this was a good experience but now I want to go back. 100%.
But outside of that ā Right. Which again, I feel like is pretty obvious. It's impoverished. Yeah. Obvious. They're obsessed with rugby league. We knew that. What I didn't really like it's, but the thing that was really cool, I thought was the way that everyone's speaking about what it will mean to Yeah, and what the potential it could do for the country. The potential is insane.
And I think that's what's most exciting about it for me personally is what does this ceiling look like for this organisation? Like, okay, do we really, for example, I think you said it, how excited would you get realistically about another team from Ipswich? Well, what's the ceiling for the Ipswich team? I'm like, who cares? Like, really? Yeah, cool, whatever. Yeah. Okay, sure. But it's not this.
No. It's not PNG where it's the national sport. Everyone's fucking obsessed with it. Willie Mason and James Graham. Willie played 10 years ago, mobbed to an inch of his life as soon as he got off the bus. There was a kid named after him at the beach. Yeah. Like, I genuinely don't know what would happen if you're Nathan Cleary or Jerome Law and you walked down the beach with us.

Chapter 5: What insights are shared about the NSW Origin Team Prediction?
That's all we really wanted. It's just a sit-down chat with Trell. That's it. Great bloke. Great bloke. Really nice guy. More propaganda, more propaganda, man. No. It's just a puff piece, guys. No, he was just cool. He was a cool dude. Very cool. Very nice. Fuck, he can stripe them. He can hit a goal.
Chapter 6: What injuries are affecting the New South Wales team?
Jesus Christ. When he got onto them ā Do you know what he plays off? Eight. Horny. Mate, when he was getting onto his driver, like they were going, they were leaking a bit, but good Lord.
They stay here.
That was a short game. Short game's good as well.
Dude, he's chipping.
He's pretty well-rounded. Good chipper. Yeah, he's pretty well-rounded. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was really good.

Chapter 7: How are players being evaluated for selection in the team?
Obviously, I drained the biggest part of the day, but it's not important. Well, I don't actually reckon I might have, but let's not put my shit on camera. He just made a mistake. He allowed us to play Ambrose and gave us a shot a hole. Huge mistake. Huge mistake. But also, we played out of our skin. By our standards, yes. Correct. You can only play outside of your own skin. That's a great point.
That's a great point. Then we played the Australian in the afternoon. Not a big deal. I was even through one at the Australian.
Chapter 8: What are the final thoughts on the upcoming rugby league events?
Well, you were one over through two. I was one over through two. I was even through one. Parred the first hole par five at the Australian. That was... It was a great Friday. I now would like to go back there and play 18. I'm going to play nine. No. Well, it was a time thing because you had to play with Sean in the morning. No, of course.
There's a lot of chat at the moment about the potential outs for New South Wales with like 12 key players being injured at the moment. Yeah, there are a few out, aren't there? That yarn's doing the rounds at the moment. But I still feel like we run deep. Like, who are the injuries? Payne, obviously that's not great. Liam Martin, Mitch Kenny, Payne Haas. Mitch Kenny was not going to get picked.
Like, he was good, but I just don't think that, like, you've got Robson. And you've got Caruso.
I wouldn't mind having a run through the team top to bottom and seeing what we think. I don't know if that's boring or if we're too far out, but.
Nah, fuck it. I don't mind doing that. Well, so fullbacks either Teddy or Edwards. I think it's probably Edwards. I think it's probably Edwards. Wingers are tall and I think it would have been Turbo. Or Marky Mark. He's injured. I don't think he's not a great defender, mate. No, he's not. I don't think he's up to it personally. Anyone we can think of that we're not thinking of? Is it Jenkins?
I don't know.
Kyle's being predicted. Yeah. I would go with Josh. He's been there, done it. He's got the experience. Fast. Played for Australia at the end of the year. Yeah. Quick too. Quick. Kid's quick. The Jenkins one, I'm like, I don't, and this is me being the rugby league dead shit, but like how much of his performances have been down to the side he's in as well?
I'm not saying, and that's not me saying they are. It's me sort of musing and wondering. Yeah, I'm with you. What about Casey McLean? Could he play on the wing? Yeah, he could. He could play on the wing.
Ideally, I don't think you're playing anyone out of position if you don't have to. Turbo's different. Turbo's different. I don't think you're playing a 20-year-old Casey out of position, though.
