Why does the episode open with a warning about MAGA being a death cult?
MAGA is a death cult. All of their policies lead to death. And on top of that, this is the one of the faces of the MAGA movement. Half dead Mitch McConnell rolls into the Senate literally and casts his first vote since his return play the clip.
Senator Slotkin
No by
proxy. Senator McConnell No.
Yeah. Okay, so as you can see, they have to jump in and tell him how he's supposed to vote. And so Josh, Scott Jennings claims he had a 20-minute conversation with that man and he said it to provide cover for him. And this was just, you know, within 10 days or so after his hospitalization. That man is not capable of hardly even raising his hand or voting correctly and doesn't even seem to know where he is, much less much less have a twenty minute conversation with a man that CNN pays to lie to the American public every single day to propagandize and provide cover for this fascist regime.
And it's not just that. He took a victory lap after Mitch McConnell was shown in public. He took a victory lap claiming, see, this is evidence that I did in fact have a twenty minute conversation. Yeah, you know, the shame in these guys and the lies, they they think to themselves that we can say whatever we want to because the American people are so fucking stupid that they don't care. And I think that goes goes back to the famous quote by Trump. Uh if in fact he said that talking about the American public. But but that's what they bank on. Uh the thing that is notable in that clip is the fact that Number one, he's having to be told what to vote. But number two, it appears that they even kind of fucked that up.
It seems like they tell him to vote one way, and then the other person has to intervene and catch it and say, no, no, it's not that. So Michael, you're given one assignment. All you got to do is like coach McConnell. He's he's somewhat in a vegetative state. All you gotta do is give him the right answer, and you can't even fucking do that right. So that's my take.
How did Mitch McConnell’s unexpected vote expose his alignment with MAGA?
Yeah, and I think you tapped into something in your first response there about how how patronizing a lot of politicians treat the electorate. It's so patronizing and disrespectful to the voters of Kentucky, to the American electorate at large, to trot this person out, have propagandists on corporate news, provide cover for this, and they're saying basically, don't believe you're lying on. Believe us, the documented liars, but don't believe yourself. And I just want to uh start painting the portrait of what MAGA is right now. Mitch McConnell is MAGA. He had an opportunity to end Trump. He showed zero courage. He didn't do it. Mitch McConnell is the architect of the Supreme Court that is colluding with fascist corporations and
providing cover for a convicted felon president that is as stupid as he is incompetent as he is dangerous. Here's another video of Mitch McConnell leading the Capitol and it shows that he's completely, completely incapable of forming a sentence. And Scott Jennings, what do you have to say for yourself? Play the clip.
Note four? Yes. Any other bills you're looking forward to? Oh yeah, are we f are we voting tonight, Senator? Are you when can we expect you back, Senator?
Normally, I would uh never enjoy seeing an old person like this um abused in public. And it's not that I enjoy this, but Mitch McConnell deserves this. He deserves for everyone to have this imagery of a man who uh used all of this power for nefarious reasons that is a patriarchal, racist old bag clinging on. to his mediocrity, still trying to wield his stick, and all he is is an absolute brain-dead vegetable that is being uh is a puppet. For other fascists.
And I I agree with everything that you said. I'll even add to that that I think this also typifies and shows the no shame i in the Republican Party. Uh they have no problem propping him or anyone else up in a wheelchair. Uh i I mean it's degrading. It's degrading. Uh and and whether or not Mitch McConnell is deserving, I mean you and I both uh feel a certain way about him. Uh but it's degrading to do that and and to the institution of the Senate, which was once thought of as being, you know, you at one point in time you respected people that were elected to office.
