I will state the obvious here, but you are enormous right now.
Brian Cage 0:23
I'm looking a little jacked and juicy.
Chris Van Vliet 0:25
You know, here. You asked me if I was going to use these.
Brian Cage 0:27
I don't want to mess up.
Chris Van Vliet 0:27
You got bands here.
Brian Cage 0:28
We spent forever setting up the camera angles, but here. Now that I have these, I figured I just had to get my little pump on.
Chris Van Vliet 0:36
This is silly. The mic might even be in the way. Look at this.
Brian Cage 0:39
My favorite lines, too. Here. There you go.
Chris Van Vliet 0:41
There you go.
Brian Cage 0:42
You're backstage, and you're like.
Chris Van Vliet 0:45
Look at this. That's just silly.

How did Brian Cage prepare to win the Mr. Nevada bodybuilding title?

Brian Cage 0:47
Did you talk to Taker? That was my favorite wine.
Chris Van Vliet 0:55
It's so good. It's so good. Well, congratulations.
Brian Cage 0:59
I hate when I say that. I'm glad you laughed and people don't get it. Cause I've done so many times. I look at somebody, you just talked to take it. And they're like,
Chris Van Vliet 1:06
That's a deep cut.
Brian Cage 1:07
Yeah. It's the best with the stage equipment. I'm like, yeah, congrats.
Chris Van Vliet 1:12
You're wearing the metal right now.
Brian Cage 1:14
Mr. Nevada state. Um, yeah, you know, freaking body guy, title body guy, metal.
Chris Van Vliet 1:20
I am indeed the number one body guy. No doubt. No dispute. Was the plan all along to do another bodybuilding show? Not at all. Not at all. I, uh,
Brian Cage 1:29
To be honest, I only fully decided to do it like five, five and a half weeks out from the show date. So you only had five and a half weeks of prep? I mean, yes and no. I mean, because I was already in great shape and I was already... I wasn't prepping for a show, but I just was doing everything. People that come around me too, they know that I do... I live the lifestyle of like, like contest prep essentially. Right. I just really like sweets. So I was like, all right, no more bowl. I won't, you know, binge on anything. I'm not gonna eat anything bad. I'm just going to go full tilt. But like, cause I wanted to come back in the best shape that I could for, for wrestling. I had this TV show. I did the sequel to the human movie that I'd done years ago.
Brian Cage 2:08
So there's a bunch of different things and obviously, you know, you just want to come back looking better than you did. And that for me has always been like the glass half full for any injury is it, uh, it always reignites the flame, like, like higher and brighter than, than it was before. It's not like I was ever unmotivated for wrestling or working out, but I'm like, all right, now I really got to get into it.
Chris Van Vliet 2:28
Well, I feel like the bar for coming back after a return is set by triple H. You know what I'm talking about? Madison square garden. Of course. He just looks like the most jacked he's ever looked. when you returned to AEW after 14 months off, like you were already in phenomenal shape, but you came back in AEW and it was like, he got an even better shape. Crazy.
Brian Cage 2:49
I, you know, it's funny. Cause I didn't even know what Renee, I didn't know Renee was going to be talking ringside. I didn't even know what she was saying. And I was even talking smack to her cause I wasn't sure what she was saying. But I love that too. When I watched the match back and she was like, somehow he's even more jacked, more ribs. I was like, Oh, she's put me over and I'm over here trying to,
Chris Van Vliet 3:06
cut her down. You're in the best shape of your life now. Dude, 42. I, and it's not just physically like how I look to, it's how I feel.
Brian Cage 3:14
Like I was trying to tell everyone, like, uh, after all these years of wrestling, my age, everything else you should be wearing down. And I feel so good. Like the amount of, Wrestling training, which I almost never really do a lot of rent, you know, kind of get back in the ring and work off some rust. And, and, but then I was like training all the time in the ring, training all the time in the gym. I started doing a bunch of MMA and jujitsu training. I was just feeling so good. And after tons of leg days, trying to build my legs back up. And not once did I ever get out and go like, Oh, this hurts. Oh, that hurt. Like everything was feeling great. I was like, this is the best I think I've ever, like, I feel better now than I think I was feeling like in my thirties.
Brian Cage 3:49
Like, this is crazy. Explain the body guy title to me. So, all right. So the idea behind this thing... I actually got this made beginning of... Last year?
