Great to see you. Great to see you. Thank you for making this happen. Absolutely. Thank you. I saw you from a distance backstage at the TNA show in Albuquerque. And I was like, is that Candice Michelle? Yeah. And like I had seen the word online that you were working with TNA. What exactly are you doing with TNA? Yeah. Tommy Dreamer called me and he offered me a spot as an agent. Oh, wow. Yeah. So did that just start this year? It did. It started, January was my first shows. And he was so funny. He's like, come and, you know, shadow me the first weekend and the next weekend you'll be an agent. And I was like, huh? What? And all I could think about is like, that is wrestling. You know, like we're going to see if you're going to survive or not.
And if you can do it or not and throw them to the wolves. And I was like, okay, let's go. I'm back. You had been away from wrestling for so long, obviously making appearances and doing conventions, but how did it feel being back in a locker room? Amazing. I think for me, the experience that I have from the last 20 years, some people will think, oh, she just hasn't been wrestling for 20 years. Doesn't mean I haven't been doing the work for 20 years. So the work looks different, you know, when it's with a family, when it's with my emotional alignment business. And so all of that experience, it's just come to the perfect time to come back and be able to do this on a bigger level. So is this just a backstage role or are we going to see Candice Michelle making an appearance on TV?
I think that this initial call was my hope spot. And I think it's going to lead into my comeback. Like, are you, are you open to wrestling another match? I was at WrestleCon and I was doing an appearance and my promoter had Dustin on and Something said, go up to him and tell him that you want to wrestle again. And I was like, I'm just listening to this voice. Like, really? And I'm like, maybe it's because I'm at WrestleCon. You know, you see all the wrestlers. You kind of get the itch. You know, you're kind of in it a little bit. I was going to the Hall of Fame that year to watch Michelle be inducted. And I go over to him. I was like, hey, I know you have a school in Texas. And I think I have the itch. And he's like, what?
What? And he's looking at me like, I don't know if she really does, you know? And then to come to December and get this call from Tommy Dreamer, I was like, I just feel it coming. I don't know when it's coming, but it's coming. When you left WWE in 2009, did you feel like your career was complete at that point? Yes. Yeah. It was... a huge transition and that was a season and a blessing for me to become a mom. And so I thought that season was over and moving into being a mom was a beautiful season for me. I didn't know that coming back to wrestling was a possibility for me. Because you worked your last match in WWE in 2009 and that was it for years. You had a retirement match eight years later, 2017 with Tommy dreamer again, full circle, but it's like, you didn't do the indie thing.
Like so many people do after they get released from WWE. Yeah, no, you know, I didn't go to the wrestling schools. You know, I didn't have, I guess I look at it as a luxury. I think that people that come up in the indie route don't look at it as a luxury, but I didn't get to learn all of those details. So I just knew the indie scene wasn't for me.
How did Candice feel about returning to wrestling after a long break?
You know, I was wrestling the best of the best with the knowledge that I had. That's safe. And to go to the indie scene with the knowledge that I had probably wasn't the best route for me. And so now to just have this come full circle, it's like to learn it, the business from a whole different angle is really such a beautiful thing. So let's back it up to the beginning here. I know you moved to LA when you were 21, right? 19. 19. Yeah, 19. So everybody has an LA story. Yes. Oh, geez. What were you chasing? I wanted to be a model. And I went, I grew up with the John Robert Powers modeling agency. I won a contract with them and I was able to go to this convention to see all the top modeling agencies in the world.
