What updates did Inter Xtra share in the episode intro?
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the InterExtra podcast. If you're watching on YouTube, you can see I'm here alone. But if you're listening on audio, there you go. I am here alone. Simi is off this week because he is home for the holidays. He just finished up his first semester at university. So... from my understanding from what he told me he did well to finish up this semester so everyone give him your congratulations and then also he's going to be traveling a lot over the next two weeks and spending some time with family so going to let him off the hook but I was also supposed to record with the founder of InterExtra on Twitter, Thomas, and he had some family things come up. So he's spending some time with family as well during the holiday season. So I'm going to give him some grief, but kind of taught him some slack as well. So we're going to keep this episode short since it's just me, but we're going to, of course, cover all the games from the past week.
We're going to hit some just the big news, I think, that's going to be important before we can come back and record again next week. And then, yeah, we're going to wrap up with talking about the rest of the games. I'm going to keep this super brief on all of the weekend action and everything. I am recording Friday evening. So this is after the Supercopa semifinal. And then, yeah. And so we have... Yeah, a ton of things that we can talk about from the past week. Not a lot of it very good, but as always, make sure that you are, since you are here, make sure you hit the subscribe button, like the video, share for us. And then, yeah, if you're listening on podcasts, wherever you find your podcasts, please leave us a five-star rating and all of you leave your comments and reviews.
tell us what you want us to talk about, all of the good stuff that we tell you every week. Now to jump right into it. As we always do, we're going to start with the women's team. The women's team had an incredible weekend. They smashed Milan in the women's derby della Madonnina 5-1. It was a close game. I believe it was a 1-1 until the half. I'm going to look it up real quick just so I don't have that wrong for you guys. Yeah, 1-1 at halftime and a four-goal second half to separate from Milan and win the game 5-1. At least one of our teams is capable of smashing that club. But really happy for the women. That's three games in a row for a win after they got knocked out of European competitions.
which can't be easy, their first time ever in European competitions. So, no, this is good. It's looking good for the women's team. Really happy for them. Of course, as I say every week, if there's any place that you all know where you can find to watch the women's team, please tell us where, but also tell us your region, because it might not be the same for every region around the world. And thank you to anyone that lets us know that. Moving on to the Primavera squad. They had some ups and downs, it looks like, this past week, yeah? So, not too bad, but four points in the last two games. They had a 4-3 lead. thriller against Cagliari. It looked, yeah, it was a comeback win. We had two goals from Moresa, Mabubi and Hidalgo penalty.
I think some of those guys are actually brought up from younger teams, so the U17 teams. I need to look at some of these ages real quick. Yeah, 17-year-olds, it's really awesome to see that. The U23 team, as we always mention, is moving these players up, and it's awesome. And then that was a midweek game. No, sorry, that was at the weekend. And then midweek, they played Hellas Verona and finished that game 3-3. Another draw, but a six-goal thriller again. A lot of goals scored, not a lot of defending. It's kind of a flip from what was happening when the U-17 or was it U-18 World Cup was going on.
How did Inter Women and the Primavera squads perform last weekend?
We had no goals going in and only one conceded or 0-0 draws. So, yeah, conceded at the last minute. So come back down 2-0, paying back to a 3-2 lead for an 82nd-minute equalizer to get one point from Hellas Verones who rescued a point for themselves in the last 10 minutes. So four points from them. They are sitting fifth in the table, the Primavera squad.
