The flight attendant came over the loudspeaker and said, we'd like you to help welcome our new co-pilot. He's about to make his first commercial landing. So when the plane stops, please give him a big round of applause. In a few minutes, the plane made an extremely bumpy landing, bouncing up and down. She came back on, said, thanks for flying with us today.
And don't forget to tell our new co-pilot which one of his three landings you liked best. Thank you. Hold up your Bible. Say it like you mean it. This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do. Today, I will be taught the word of God. I boldly confess my mind is alert. My heart is receptive. I will never be the same in Jesus name. I want to talk to you today about being good to people. Everywhere we go, we should look for opportunities to be a blessing. Doesn't have to be something big. You bring your coworker a cup of coffee in the morning, a small act of kindness. Or on the freeway, traffic backs up. You slow down, you let that car in in front of you. Just being good to people. At the grocery store, the person behind you has fewer items. You tell them, go up ahead in front of me. You don't have to. There's nothing wrong if you don't, but you're on the lookout for ways that you can be good to people. On the forefront of your mind is not how can I get blessed, but how can I be a blessing? I've learned if you will make somebody else's day, God will always make your own day.
If you'll bring a smile to their face, God will bring a smile to your face. This is the most rewarding way to live. Not what can I get, but what can I give? Not what can you do for me, but what can I do for you? The scripture says Jesus went about doing good, healing all that were sick. The first thing Jesus did before healing, before ministering, before delivering was he was good to people. And we all have an assignment. You could say we all have a ministry. May not be up in front of people. May not be to go overseas and be a missionary. Our ministry is to be good to people. That's one of the best witnesses that we could ever have. You don't have to necessarily preach them a sermon. You don't have to argue doctrine, try to make them believe what you believe.
Just be good to them. Our actions speak much louder than our words. We can say all day long, I love you, but true love is seen in what we do. If I really love you, I'll be good to you. If I really love you, I'll let you have the parking spot, even though I got there first.

There was a young man in line behind him that attends Lakewood. He just finished working out and ran in there to get something to drink. He overheard this conversation, how the man didn't have enough money. He said to him, you stay here. I'll be back in 10 minutes.
He ran home, got his wallet, came back and bought the man's prescription. The older man was so excited. He said, Joel, I came to Lakewood today for the first time because if there are people like that at Lakewood, then I want to be here.
