Um hearty good morning from Augusta. And the masters, a tradition. Unlike any other. Uh getting here was a bitch though. I can tell you that. Sounds like it. Oh Lord. Um anyway, we got uh we got some important stuff to talk about here this morning uh with the Rays Um it wasn't even a term sheet that was put out last night, but a financial framework that has now been laid down. Um just from the Rays side. This is not the fully negotiated deal. Um so we'll get into that a little bit. The Rays Yankee series gonna start up this weekend. Gonna be fantastic. Big O will join us, talk about what's going on on the field with the Rays. Timmy's done some research, I've been told. The word is on the street. That Timmy's been been crunching the numbers for the race.
Very sketchy, very sketchy. So we'll get into that as well. Some bucks news to get into. So uh we'll hit all the major themes here today as we run through. And uh as I mentioned, Big O will join us to talk some baseball. How are you, Indy Cartoon? How are you, buddy?
Trying to recover from that fiasco of a show that was yesterday. Me by myself for the most part.
Yeah, yeah. Well, when when the boss is on vacation, you know, we gotta we we wanted to do live shows because there's obviously breaking news going on. So we wanted to do as best we could. So we'll hit it for uh an hour or so this morning, then we'll have a big O show and then next week we'll be back in the saddle and uh uh gonna be a very important week for for Ray Stadium, workshopping, etc. So we will be uh we will be on task.
I had a lot of people yelling at me in the comments, why are we listening to an interview that's a month old? I was like, look, boys and girls, I am the substitute teacher. All right. This is what the teacher told me to do for your curriculum today, okay? I'm doing what I was told. That's all I can say.
There was some very pertinent information in there still philosophically. So
look, and I said yesterday, I said, Look, it's fun to go back in time a month ago and hear what the the plan was there and now that we're, you know, a couple of weeks into the season now, to see how some of that has transpired and how it's played out and I just I mean, I thought it was interesting to go back and hear all the comments again, so
Well, uh we got a live show today, so uh we're gonna hit all the uh the major themes that were uh you know out there in the media, especially as as vis a vis vis the uh the rays financial plan for this stadium. But I I think the big news that came out of yesterday was exactly what we had predicted for for months that uh when it gets down to it the Rays will come up with more money on their side of the ledger, which they have done. So it looks like this is more We're gonna be about a a fifty eight to forty two split somewhere in there, fifty-seven, forty three split in in terms of the stadium. Now what's you know, still it is is bothersome to me in terms of the media coverage is we just keep talking about the stadium and not the mixed use project, which is really kind of ridiculous.
And I just keep hearing people uh talk on and on and on about how much money that the the Rays are getting, but there's no talk about the return to the taxpayers. And that's what's at the heart of this deal. And if if I could flush it out again, for just from what we've learned yesterday. And again, this this is the Rays Um term sheet that they're putting out. I don't even like calling it a term sheet because the term sheet is is something that is fully negotiated. Um you know according to the reporting in the Times and you know I don't know we gotta take that with a grain of salt, obviously, you know, the the county commissioners and city council didn't get this until less yesterday afternoon and they have not looked at it or commented on it.
