This is Believe. One network, every topic, everywhere.
Stand by to launch FanStream Sports.
Let's start. Hello sports fans.
Welcome to FangStream Sports. Nothing. Nothing but pure sports. This is the JP Show. JP, it is so good to hear you back on the air. Stand by. Now here's JP. All right, it's Friday. I am jumping and ready to go, man. After a big day yesterday of nonstop talking, we are uh we are here and ready rip rare and a go. And what a show we have for you today. This is the show of the people, Timmy. This is the show of the people. Indy Car Tim, our Dallas affiliate, who joins me each and every day. Um this is uh um where we're gonna we're gonna get down to some brass tacks with Ken B. Baby, the CEO of the Rays, coming on here in just a few minutes. He'll join us at ten oh five. At ten thirty, uh gold medalist, multiple gold medals, Brooke Bennett will join us to talk about completing an Iron Man triathlon, which is absolutely insane.
You know how long that is, Timmy? Yeah, yeah. You know what that is? A
triathlon, that's a thousand miles. It may as well be, right? May as well be a thousand miles.
That's a what is it? Twenty six mile swim a twenty six mile run, the marathon, a hundred and ten bike, I believe. Yep. And a two mile swim. Two mile swim. Yep. Not in your life in the same day. That's in the same life. In the same collectively.
Yeah. No.
So uh for a for a a three time gold medalist, what is that all about? So we'll talk about it. Nothing for her. And Chris Mack will join us, the new USF basketball coach who's putting together a fantastic team. Again, um very excited about the newer era that he is about to bring to USF basketball. So uh and that just the momentum just continues over there at uh USF, uh especially since uh The great CEO has come aboard there, Rob Higgins. So uh they had a big tour of the stadium this week. I was not able to attend that. My apologies, Rob, but uh they are cooking over there uh on Fowler Avenue. So lots of great things going on at Tampa Bay, not the least of which was a huge vote yesterday, four three, uh, on the MOU, the non-binding MOU, which I spoke to yesterday in Council Chambers.
Appreciate them giving me the opportunity to do so. As did many of the Petermans, by the way. And absolutely you guys are killing it. Um, so many of you yesterday, Palermo, Alejandro, James, uh, uh Nick, um, I'm so many guys uh jumped up there and talked in in supported the race. We really appreciate you guys pumping out there and your voices are being heard big time, not only by the organization, but by the city as a whole. And we really appreciate what you guys are doing. And um without further ado let's uh bring in our leader our true leader the CEO of the raise Mr. Ken Babby who I gotta tell you Ken yesterday I don't know if you were ever
How does the conversation shift to Ken Babby and the Rays stadium negotiations?
A relief pitcher in your day. But when you came out of the bullpen late in the game to answer some pretty interesting questions, some very good ones too, and the way you handled that. My man, you are a star and the most patient human
being on the planet. How are you? I don't think anybody's ever said I'm patient. I'll let my wife know that you said that. Uh I appreciate that. Look, it this is a this is a process, guys. You gotta keep your cool through it. JP, I thought you did a fantastic job yesterday and thank you. H having so many of the the Petermans there uh in in full force every time we've done this. And by the way, we'll give them we'll give them the weekend off to watch some baseball, but we're gonna need to get them right back in there as cannot wait for the series. that watched this yesterday knows we still have a lot of work ahead of us. But uh appreciate the kind words. It was it was fun being in there in a situation.
So, you know, my my read on it yesterday was it was a tough day. You know, it was like a back and forth, you know, uh baseball game where the each side keeps answering. And I think a lot of people, you know, on on social media left they're thinking, wow, this is this is this is not good. But I kind of kinda went came away with a couple of things.
