What does the opening segment introduce about the JP Peterson Show and its guests?
This is Believe. One network, every topic, everywhere.
Stand by to launch FanStream Sports.
Let's start. Hello sports fans.
Welcome to Fang Stream Sports. Nothing. Nothing but pure sports. This is the JP Show. JP, it is so good to hear you back on the air. Stand by. Now, here's JP.
All right, welcome in to a game day edition of the JP Peterson Show. That's why I'm wearing my jersey. I'm my sweater. I'm ready to go. Um put me in, coach. Put me I bet we wish he still played. The last thing we need is me on ice. Uh yes. Look at that. What is that? That's ninety one. Stamkos,
the captain. What is that? As a C on the chest. I think you're trying to make a statement here, aren't you?
I kinda am. I kinda am. I looked in my closet this morning and I went Mm. That might work today. That might work today. We'll get to that in just a little bit. Greg Linelli's gonna join us uh from the Lightning Radio Network at ten forty five to talk some lightning as uh the season is on the break tonight, boys and girls. Elimination game tonight in Montreal, the Bell Center will be popping. You think? Yeah. Yeah. But you know what? I've seen this team rise up. In these exact moments and play their best hockey. Question is, my friend. Is this the same team? Is this the same team? And the answer to that is resoundingly no. But does that mean they can't win tonight? No. No. It just means they gotta reach back and find that winning formula that worked for them so often.
And we'll get into that in just a little bit. A little bit. A little bit. Uh also today, coming up on the big program, Daryl Jackson will be joining us. He is going into the sports club of Tampa Bay Hall of Fame on June 3rd at our big banquet, uh, which I will be emceeing. Honored to do so for my, I believe this is my seventh or eighth time doing that. Uh, but it is a uh absolute uh wonderful night, one of the best nights of the of the entire calendar. year and uh we will all come together as Tampa Bay sports folks, um bunch of our old Hall of Famers, our new Hall of Famers, welcome them in and really celebrate Tampa Bay sports. So if you do not have your tickets for that, and it will sell out if it's not already sold out.
I'm I have a board meeting this week, we'll find out. But there are still some tables available. So sportsclub of tampa bay.org is where you go and get your table right now. And Daryl Jackson will join us. Played for the Florida Gators, played for uh Tampa Catholic, and had a long run with the Seattle Seahawks as well. So we'll talk with him, one of the great local stars here. He'll join us in studio at 1130, uh, along with great Lou Maggio, president of the sports club of Tampa Bay. So we'll do a uh little celebration of local heroes, which we're gonna be doing over the next month. We'll have uh all the Hall of Famers on the show and get ready for a big Evening. So we'll do that.
How do the hosts break down the Tampa Bay Lightning’s playoff situation and recent performance?
We'll talk some rays baseball. They got a big weekend of promotions and baseball and questions to answer from the Hillsboro County Commission. Um so we learned a lot yesterday about what's holding this deal up, and it's significant. There are significant answers that need to come from the Rays. I'm not gonna sugarcoat that. Um, and the county has gotten some of them, they don't feel it's complete on a lot of them and this stuff needs to get done and it needs to get done in short order. And so we'll talk about that and what those questions and answers might be. And uh yeah, so we'll get through all that. And also uh college sports is obviously gone and uh uh uh uh it's changed a lot. Let's just put it that way.
It's changed a lot. And uh big reforms are coming. Yesterday there was a meeting actually here in Tampa, which Rob Higgins attended and all the uh state athletic directors talking about what needs to be done and what uh maybe legislation can be drawn up here in Florida to help the uh colleges, the state universities uh kind of navigate these waters from a financial standpoint. And obviously that drives winning and and losing these days, obviously. with the money that's going into NIL.
