Monday edition of the JP Peterson Show. Man, we got a ton. Of weekend stuff to go over, I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm Jack Dunn. Nick Geddes is joining us here. Uh we are in our home studios today. It's kind of a Monday like that. There's just too much too much to go over to spend time on the crowded roads here in Tampa Bay. So I have to devote all of my prep time. Just staying right here. Oh, I don't mind it whatsoever because in my situation it gives me a little bit chance to get some more sleep in. So the uh that's
not what you're supposed to say, bro. Supposed to say you're you're working hard. Oh I am I didn't sleep in until late ten.
No, but I I kid, I kid. I've been up in a I've been up getting everything together for uh this morning because like you said, this was a big weekend. And honestly, I think it was a weekend we needed in uh Tampa Bay sports. I mean, all all three teams, honestly, I think had a a banner a banner weekend or at least a banner close to the weekend when it comes to the t when it comes to the lightning.
I would agree wholeheartedly. Uh you know, that game last night really had the feel of a turning point in the series. Uh and it was a must-win for the lightning. So we get into all the different machinations that uh this this game produced last night. Now I mean a quick aside, do I still I still feel like the lightning are the better team? I don't know about that. I don't know about that, but I will tell you this, they are the more determined team. They are the more determined team. And that sometimes in close series, usually actually in close series, is the difference. So we'll get into that in just a little bit. Uh the Rays complete a sweep this weekend of the twins. A lot of good stuff going on with the Rays.
We'll get into that between the pitching. And junior Camonero and um yeah, lots of good stuff going on with the Rays. We'll get into that. And of course the Bucks draft, which I feel like, you know, in terms of filling in all the check marks of what you needed to add to this team, that was an absolute master class in filling needs. And, you know, especially when you when you get the the good fortune of Ruben Bain falling to you. That sets up your whole draft. And then then now you can maybe, you know, just go and play you're playing with house money and you want to just fill those spots and see what you get. A lot of intriguing prospects that they brought in. A lot of very intriguing prospects that I have a lot of, you know, to me, the draft is all about fit.
It's all about fit, you know, it it's getting guys to fit your scheme. I think if there's if there's one thing A few things that you learned about the Patriots run. It was that um even though Belichick was not a great drafter of players, they always found players or that fit needs for them. And their scheme was was was good and and they they found those players. And I think the Bucks did a great job of finding players that Phil needs um that were desperately there. Now, how good these guys turn out. Not to be nobody knows, but we're gonna go through all of them. and kind of look at their strengths and weaknesses and uh and talk about all that. So and and a little bit of I promise you guys we won't do much on the stadium, but there's just a couple little things we have to touch on.
from the weekend um that were positive because this is the place you come for actually more balanced coverage of the race stadium and uh we're here for it. So uh we're just gonna jump in with the lightning last night in an absolutely uh phenomenal come from behind. win over a a very I I think talented Montreal team and a team, you know, this to me, you know, there's obviously the the rivalry with the Panthers. Um this is the up and coming team in the Atlantic.
