wait. I've been doing um uh uh watching Olympics. I'm enveloped into the Olympics. Yeah. Um, just loving it, every part of it. Um watched it all last night and Yeah, um it's just catching up on some things. So yeah. A busy morning, unfortunately. For those that don't know,
for those that don't know, there has been an an addition to the defensive coaching staff under Todd Bowles for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they have hired Todd Bowles Jr. to be a defensive analyst on that staff.
And let's you know, to be honest, this is not a critical position, but it is a position. And there's a bigger thing at play here that is a problem, is a huge problem. So we'll get into that in just in just a second. Um Rob Manfred speaking glowingly of the raised new ownership group and the stadium. Um, so I guess it's more important if the commissioner baseball thinks it's gonna happen. Other than a local columnist versus a local columnist. So I think I'll I'll take the commissioner. On my side. We're picking, you know, picking teams here for kickball. I'm gonna take the commissioner. I might so On this one. So we'll get into that a little bit. Uh USA hockey looked fantastic yesterday. Did you see that game?
I did. Oh my that one goal. That was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty stuff. Damn good. Um so we'll get it to all all the uh different lot of great stories at the Olympics. A lot ton of great stories. We're great human stories, which which is my favorite, you know, when it comes to all that.
And this is why the Winter Olympics are better, JP. You don't get these stories out of the Summer Olympics.

The first salvos are being thrown out there, two hundred sixty million dollar cap, a hundred sixty million dollar floor. Um it's I think I don't think that's gonna be where it's at, but you know, it may be a starting point and so we'll we'll kick that

around a little bit. What do you guys think is best for baseball? Do you think there needs to be a cap and does there need to be a floor? Absolutely there needs to be a floor, one thousand percent. Uh and the raise uh will will be above that. It would have to be above that and that's a good thing. So um we'll get into all that. And of course if this happens it's not gonna take effect until Oh Well, after the strike, however long that l however long that lasts or the the lockout to be more specific. Um so it won't take place I think till the earliest twenty twenty eight, unless by some miracle they get this thing done at the end of this year when the C BA expires. Um, then it'll be enforced in twenty twenty seven.
But I doubt that. I think we all doubt that. And even if they put it even if they uh adopt it, they'll probably grandfather it in because teams don't have to go right to you know, one sixty or what have you. So I think that change needs to come.
