What is the opening banter and introduction of the JP Peterson Show?
This is Believe. One network, every topic, everywhere.
Stand by to launch FanStream Sports.
Let's start. Hello sports fans.
Welcome to FanStream Sports. Nothing. Nothing but pure sports. This is the JP Show. JP, it is so good to hear you back on the air. Stand by. Now, here's JP. All right, welcome into a Thursday edition of the JP Peterson show. Now we got a great one for you today. Not a whole lot going on, just the fact USF has a new coach, which was announced yesterday during the show, but we got more. We got more for you today. Uh the Rays have a new center fielder. Uh the drop is uh open for business. Uh Ryan McDonough has been extended. Uh the lightning play tonight. Uh what else we got? Signing day was yesterday. Anything else, Timmy? Cowboys, Lions, baby. Cowboys, Lions tonight. Jiminy Christmas. Lots of stuff to get through.
We talked to the Bucks yesterday. So we'll do a little Buck Saints preview as well. Whatever you folks want to bring into the uh chat. We love you. Come on down, uh, bring it on in. Um, but lots to get to today. Brian uh Bradley, Lightning Hall of Famer, will be joining us at 10:30. And Joey Johnston from USF, a sideline reporter, will be joining us here in just a few minutes as we uh set up the show here. And and yes, of course, the good news yesterday from the Bucks. Buccaneers, Mike Evans back at practice. Even though it's just a walkthrough, great to see thirteen back out there. Jalen McMillan was out there as well. Yeah, so we uh starting to get healthier for the Buccaneers just in time for the NFC South stretch run.
So um yeah, it's gonna be fun. We got lots to lots to get to. So I would generally say, Timmy, and and yesterday we had uh Jeff Fidoff on uh our show yesterday on the breaking news, who covers Ohio State on a daily basis. And we learned a lot about Brian Hartline and how well rehe regarded he is at Ohio State. Um and I think just judging from the national response, this is an absolute grand slam home run, whatever you want to call it, touchdown, one hundred yard kickoff return. It is all that and more. Some are saying it's an upgrade. Some are saying it's an upgrade. Um I don't know how we would know that, but some are saying that. Uh certainly possibilities for that, given that, you know, this is a guy that was mentioned and for Penn State, and Penn State still doesn't have a head coach.
I mean, I would guess very seriously that Penn State approached Brian Hardline. Why would they not? And he chose USF. Interesting. Very, very interesting. And I think it's a super smart call. Because and I think he probably could have had one of those bigger jobs, but I think he's got something else in mind. And I think, you know, unlike what Dion did going from Jackson State jumping right into P four play at at the power at a power four school at Colorado, um, whereas that had he taken the USF job, and I said this at the time, and brought that same talent to USF, chances are he probably wins ten games and maybe even a conference championship with Shador and Travis Hunter and all those guys. Those guys.
Yeah. Yeah. Um, but instead he jumped into the deep end of the pool. That was his decision. And it it has not gone well, I think, overall. And I think for Heartline, it's like, you know, I I need to find out how to build a program. I need to go to USF with a great opportunity there with the money that they're and resources that they're putting in in this conference, the American. The way I can recruit. He's I bet he's looking at this very much so as I can go there and have immediate success. And not that it's just a stepping stone job, but the first things first. Let's go win eight, nine, ten games at a conference championship, and then we'll figure it out from there. I think it's I think it's absolutely I think it's a great fit for USF and I think it's a great fit for Brian Hartline.
Well and the really smart play. The recruiting dominoes are already falling. As you mentioned yesterday was National Early Signing Day, and one of the Buckeye's biggest gets at the time, we thought, Chris Henry Jr.
