All right, welcome back to the Just Win Podcast. I'm your host, Ted Wynn. That's my co-host, Marshall Newhouse. And it is getting late in the season. It's December. Christmas is coming up. We have games on Saturday. We got college playoff games. You're calling the TCU game this week a bowl game, right? Which bowl game is that?
I'm calling five bowl games, to be exact. There's the first responders game up in Dallas. The Houston Bowl, U of H and LSU, and then TCU versus USC in San Antonio. And then the Las Vegas Bowl out in Vegas, funny enough. And then what's the last one? Oh, the Fort Worth Bowl. It's like the Armed Forces Bowl. So five in like seven days. So a lot going on.
Yeah, you're going to be all over the place. All right. Well, let's... Actually, let's talk about last night's game. Thursday night. One of the best Thursday night games we've ever seen. Man. Goes into overtime.

And so I study guys like him and anyone else on broadcast that I watch. And, you know, people make mistakes that happens. You have a whole team. If you don't know this, there's a whole production team that helps you out. There's a statistician. There's sometimes a scout as in the person who's looking with binoculars on the field for anything. There's someone down. There's a lot of help. But to me, it's the enthusiasm part that he seems kind of ho-hum about a division game going into overtime and incredible quarterback play and two rising coordinators. I was just like, man, you don't have to be Gus Johnson every time or Kevin Harlan every time. But it's just when you can feel it on the broadcast that there's just like a lack of elevation of the moment, that's when you're like, okay, I wonder what's going on.
Yeah, like when Puka scored that touchdown, he was just like, oh, it's a nice play.
Not only was it a touchdown, it was like one of Stafford's, I think, furthest no looks he's ever thrown. Like he was looking at the corner route and throws the underneath route to Puka. I'm just like, what? Like that would have maybe jumped out of my seat if I were in the booth.
Yeah, he was incredible. But the reason why we are talking about Thursday Night Game on a Raiders podcast is that two of the coordinators are going to be two of the top head coach candidates in this next cycle. And we don't know if Pete Carroll is going to be fired, but I would say it's 50-50 right now. So I think, you know, as a Raider fan, you look at those two guys and, man, they put on a great performance. I mean, at first it was Chris Shula. That Rams defense was dominating. There was a couple plays where he just baited Sam Darnold into interceptions with great calls. Made it look like man turned out to be zone and they got a pick off of that. And they had kind of a cover zero blitz in the red zone that got Darnold.
And then Kubiak fought back and then he was calling some really great plays to get Sam Darnold in the rhythm, getting guys wide open, building his confidence. And then you get into an overtime game and it was a great call to, to get Salver into their backup tight end wide open for that two point conversion. So, I mean, you just look at that game and you're just like, man, these are two of the top strategists in the game and, you know, modern strategists. And you want a piece of that. If you're a team looking for a coach.
