Tomorrow, the Orion Artemis II and four astronauts return home. And over the last few days, I received DMs asking why, with the economy and tensions in the world, I would be in favor of, quoting now, spending so much money in space. For anyone who's not figured it out, here's why. Okay, it's very simple. Zero dollars were spent in space, not one cent.
Every dollar was spent right here on Earth, creating jobs and new knowledge. If you haven't seen the fabulous photos of Earth taken from the moon, look today. And remember Carl Sagan's quote, look closely at Earth. That's here. That's home. That's us.

Chapter 2: What recent space missions are discussed in the episode?
I'm asking her, what happened? You know, do you have my phone? She goes, no. So we use her phone to use the Find My.
Chapter 3: Why is spending on space exploration justified?
It's back on the bench at the train station. So we immediately get off, return back to the train station. The people that are sitting on the bench with their little girl, spoke English and says, no, we don't have the phone, but then they're, and I'm using find my, so I know it's right there.
And then the other bench had three teenage boys sitting there and it's pointing right at them and they don't speak English. Of course they say, and I don't have my phone. Yeah, I pinged it, but they already had it on silent somehow. It wasn't working. Okay. But anyway, you know, it's not worth the hassle with three teenagers, you know, in a foreign country trying to hassle with them.
So anyway, I was getting ready to upgrade to a new phone anyway, so I'm only at a couple hundred dollars on the trade-in. So anyway, locked it all down, reported it as lost. of course, and then came in and reported it as stolen. Okay, good. And I'm trying to go through the steps, first off with Verizon trying to lock everything down.
Being in a foreign country, I'm in Rome, Wi-Fi is not very good, and then trying to work with Apple. The issue I had with Apple for the erasure part was it kept sending the four-digit ping to my phone. You're like, I don't have that phone. I don't have my phone.
Chapter 4: What breathtaking photos of Earth from the Moon are mentioned?
It was stolen. That don't make no sense. They pinged it again. They pinged it three times, and then it locked me out for four days.
Yeah, the activation lock, yes.
And it's just like, oh, this is frustrating. But anyway, Verizon was helpful in the point that they changed my SIM over to my wife's phone so I could get phone calls coming in. So it was like a two-line phone. So they were helpful with Verizon. But with Apple, what I'm looking at now, I finally found the phone. It was in Naples at some phone store.
I didn't file the police report because it was late at night. We were getting on the train with the same teenagers, and it's just not worth the hassle for the amount of money. And then when we pinged it, it was in Naples at this phone store. So I was trying to figure that out. So, okay, it got activated. I know where it is. And then it just suddenly stopped.
And then two weeks or two months later, it shows up in Ivory Coast in Africa.
You know what? Somebody stole my son Ian's AirPod Maxes. And same thing, went silent for a while. And then it popped up at this, this little village in Africa. I mean like a little tiny village. And then when I went to Google maps to see what the village looked like, I mean, literally dirt streets and huts. And now there's somebody walking around with Apple AirPods.
You mean the king is walking around with Apple AirPods on?
Probably. All right. So, so now it's in, now it's in Africa. Now what happens?
Well, now when I go to find my, it just says it's been six weeks. It's gone off. And what it's showing is still... Not, you know, the erasure's in progress. So my concern is, why didn't the erasure come on from Apple right away? Or how long does it take? Does it have to be turned on multiple times?
