Chapter 1: What is the main topic of this episode?
Today's stories include PlayStation Forms, a new first-party studio. Outriders devs are working on a PlayStation IP. And God of War's TV show is already set for two seasons. We'll have all this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. What's up and welcome back to Kinda Funny Games Daily for Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. Of course, I'm your host, Tim Geddes.
I'm joined today by the big daddy himself, Greg Miller.
Hello, everybody. It's me, Greg Miller. I'm excited to be here, Timothy.
We're not alone at this desk. We're not. You want to show the world what you have back here, what you're hiding from them?
Maybe you've heard of Cole the wiener dog.
He's here.
He's inside this bag. He's bagged up. We're going to hang him from the top of the ceiling and do a ladder match.
Can I tell you something very, very exciting? Sure. Stealth tweets out, Nintendo hasn't had a Nintendo Direct that included first-party games since June 2024. Wow. We are 15 days away from the Switch 2. Wow. Just over two weeks away, Greg, before all of our questions are answered. Incredibly. Incredibly. I'm feeling good. I just want the answers. When's it coming out?
What games am I playing this year? And I'm sorry, what day and what time is that again? It is April 2nd at 6 a.m. Pacific.

Chapter 2: What new PlayStation studio has been formed?
Jen says it is. She's like, all right, stop there. She goes, stop there. We'll get back to this later. I had a bounty. Is it the new Korean coffee? We'll find out. I didn't sleep much. Bounty is the new Korean coffee. What did you just say? You gave a tagline. Kevin and I are simpatico today, all right? His mind is mine. My mind is his.
We get the slack from Bless. Stay on track. There's a lot of news today.
This is only six minutes of fun.
Don't worry, everybody. Today after game's due. You're going to get Gamescast, which is our Assassin's Creed Shadows review. Those embargo just dropped. Then the stream is going to be a little bit more of that Pokemon Nuzlocke mixed with Cinnatunertle. We'll see how that goes, but it's going to be fun. Sorry, I missed that. In between that, there's going to be a kind of funny podcast.
I think that's going to be Greg and Jack Petillo talking, which is really, really fun.
Mike, Nick, and Jack Patillo.
You're right. Respect to Mike. My bad. If you're a kind of funny member, God, I'm going to read it because it's written down. Today's Gregway is coming. And it is spelled C-U-M-M-I-N apostrophe.
I haven't recorded it yet. I'll probably record it on my way to GDC. So it's not about coming, but it could be if you want. Put in your votes now.
Put in your votes now. Fucking A. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Delady Twine and Carl Jacobs and Omega Buster. Today, we're brought to you by Shady Rays, MeUndies, and Factor, but we'll tell you all about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have seven stories today.

Chapter 3: Which game is People Can Fly developing for PlayStation?
She better do that all the time.
People can fly. The developer of Outriders and Bulletstorm have signed a deal with PlayStation to work on a new project based on an existing Sony franchise. Further details remain slim for now, though it has been confirmed the upcoming release is codenamed Project Delta, and that it's based on a franchise to which Sony holds the IP rights.
Word of this upcoming Sony collaboration comes from a report published by People Can Fly itself. The studio stated it had entered into a work-for-hire agreement with the PlayStation maker. The PlayStation maker. PlayStation maker. Cool. I get stoked about this. What do you think it's going to be? I don't know. Oh, maybe. Resistance?
Hmm. Perhaps. Am I just being, I mean, you know, Outriders, Bullets, I'm thinking guns. I'm thinking what you're putting me on, right?
But I mean, they make shooty shooty feel good. They do.
Outriders was a lot of fun. We had a lot of fun with Outriders.
Yeah, that's the thing is like people can fly being more optimistic about that. Well, I guess it's coming from a bad place. I'm shocked they're still around and I'm very happy. I'm very happy that they're still around because they make great games and I feel like Outriders was a perfect example of what we're talking about of like you can make a game not be like every other game.
It doesn't need to be live service. Even if we look at it, we're like that's live service. We don't believe you. It's not live service. And they put it out. It's not live service. It's like, okay, cool. You put out a game that was fun and seemed to do well enough, continuing them to be able to make games, and then now working with PlayStation.
I'm a big fan of PlayStation IP, so I'm excited to see what they could possibly bring back. Yeah, you jump into those two. I mean, maybe.

Chapter 4: What updates are there on the God of War TV series?
Hawk Otzby is a great name.
There's a bunch of great names in this paragraph. Shout out to names. In an interview with fellow Battlestar Galactica alum Katie Sackhoff, Moore talked a bit... Who's so freaking cool? A bit more about... He's been up too. Right now I'm working on an adaptation of... There's a video game called God of War.
A big title in the gaming world that Amazon has ordered two seasons of and they've asked me to come in. So I'm literally in the writer's room and working on that. That's my new thing. He went on to say he's not a gamer, though he does enjoy some Defender, Asteroids, and Centipede. He says he took a stab at it, but the controllers threw him. Press R1. Which one's R1? Oh, I'm dead, Moore said.
And, yeah, this goes on, and he's pretty much saying he's not going to play God of War before making a God of War show. Awesome.
That's a recipe for success.
Recipe for success.
That was why they wanted to work with Craig Mazin on The Last of Us. He's like, I don't know what this is. I don't care. It's about mushrooms.
I love mushrooms. This video game thing. Apparently it's a big deal. I hate this, man. I fucking hate this. This feels like out of time, not the end of the day, not the end of the world. We've seen many times adaptations happen. People can understand a story, can watch things. You don't need hands on the sticks to understand a lot of what makes God of War special. But...
We've seen in the last 10 years at this point.
