Chapter 6: What is the significance of Tyron Stokes' recruitment?
Ryan, it was a good weekend of sort of relaxation, and I forget every year until I'm here how the city of Louisville transforms Derby Week. All of a sudden this morning, there's construction everywhere, there's roses, like this city completely changes. And Shannon and I were just saying, we're the only two people in the building that are not required to do anything for the Derby.
You did it for 30 years. Are you sad that you don't have to do it anymore?
Yeah.
I think I'd rather have my left arm cut off than have to go cover the Derby again. You hate the Derby. Why do you hate the Derby so much? It was just so many unbelievably long days.

You know, you've got to get there at 6 in the morning, so you leave Lexington at 4.30 in the morning.
You don't get home until midnight. You got thrown to a mud puddle at one time. I think that's it. Yeah.
I think that ultimately is what's wrong. He doesn't like that he got thrown in that mud hole.
He got assaulted. Yeah, he did.
So there's this guy.

Chapter 8: How do the hosts analyze the impact of player recruitment on the team's success?
Some people may know him. His name is John Fanta, and he does college basketball in the NBA. You've seen that guy, right? He's been on our show. He's been on the show. He's hosted the show before. Actually going to host the show, I think, maybe this summer. So John, he got assigned this year to the Derby for the first time. And his job is he is in the infield, Shannon.
So that's where he got assigned by NBC, which I think is kind of interesting if you know John. Like, what a weird place to put him. He doesn't seem like a party guy to me. He's not a big party guy, and he's always in suits and stuff. So he asked me if I had any advice. And I just sent him the video of Ryan getting thrown into the mud. And I said, don't let this happen to you.
Because I think you've said, Ryan, you still have an injury from that, right? It messed my back up for many, many years.
Should have called TJ.
And did you meet one time the guy that threw you in the puddle? No, I think we talked about it on one of the shows. Somebody thought they could identify him or thought they knew who he was, but I've never met the guy. And it's one of the four people that Ryan hates, Shannon, is the guy that threw him in the mud puddle that years ago. I don't blame him. It stunk so bad. It was nasty.
It's funny is if that had happened, Shannon, in today's internet world.
There'd be a million videos.
Ryan would be viral. Ryan would be a meme. If somebody picked a reporter up and threw him in the mud nowadays, can you imagine if somebody tries to do that to John Fanta this weekend?
Nobody's picking him up.
