Chapter 1: What is the concept of the Enhanced Games discussed?
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the Enhanced Games. Some call it grotesque, others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Chapter 2: How does mental toughness relate to personal growth?
Just like this review from Joshua, who says this about his experience with Stockton. They were super professional. Always answered my questions I had and streamlined the process. I could not ask for better people to help me and my family get our first house. I feel blessed to be able to go through them.

Chapter 4: How does the conversation shift to music and emotions?
Cornbread Hemp is grown for the good life. Some people, Shannon, suggesting singers with that emotion we talked about. Most votes on here for your guy, Lane Staley of Alice in Chains.
I was going to say Lane, but then I could already just foresee you going, no, you don't know what you're talking about.
Well, I mean, I don't know a lot of their songs.
They're unplugged. Yes, absolutely.
Are they the ones that go man in the box?
Yep, and rooster and a bunch of hits.
Yeah. So I can see that. Some old country ones. Vern Gosden. That's as cool. That's a good one. Is he the guy? Sit him up, Joe, and go walk in the floor. Is that him? Yes. He's got, I can tell by the way you dance, you're going to love me tonight. I heard that song. I know what you're talking about. Yes. He's also got one. What is it? This ain't my first rodeo. I'm a Vern Gosden fan, by the way.
I've got to be the only person under the age of 70 that knows Vern Gosden, but I do like Vern Gosden. Is he a 70s guy? I think he's like 40s.
He's not that old. He's dead now.

Chapter 5: What are the opinions on Mark Pope's coaching?
People are sending me resumes of coaches that we would have hired at the time. Looking at it, I could see the case for Tommy Lloyd. I guess he had made two Sweet 16s. I think you'd have had a hard time getting him to leave Arizona, though. I mean, North Carolina wasn't able to do it. So he had already had success at Arizona? He'd had at least one Sweet 16. I didn't think he was there that long.
But you'd have had a hard time. I mean, one of the things to think about for all these guys, like take Tommy Lloyd or even T.J. Otzelberger, North Carolina tried to hire both those guys. They didn't get either one of them. Didn't get either one of them. So, I mean, maybe we would have had more success than North Carolina. Yeah.
But it may be the case that the days of just being able to go and rip whoever you want are not necessarily there. And to be honest, we don't really know. Maybe Mitch Barnhart threw a feeler out there to Tommy Lloyd, and Tommy Lloyd shut it down pretty quick, so he moved on to the next guy. Maybe. I don't know.
Kyle Tucker said on my podcast that he thought Mitch had, for three or four years, assumed Scott Drew would take the job. I guess the year Scott Drew won the national championship, Mitch Barnhart was the head of the selection committee that year, and that was the bubble year. So they spent all that time in the bubble together, and he grew really close to it.
So I believe that the wife and the grandma shot that down. I think they came to Lexington, toured Lexington, and went back. Apparently that was a bad tour. Bad tour. Apparently that was a bad tour. I don't know what happened in that. But, I mean, Baylor was terrible this year. Who's to say that would have gone? That's right. I don't think really that family wanted to live in the U.K. Fish Bowl.
It is definitely a fishbowl. All right, let's talk about our guy Vince Merrill for a second. So, you know, we got another commitment yesterday in football. Another four-star. Flipped him from North Carolina, from Bill Belichick. So, Bill Belichick creating the 33rd pro team hasn't happened yet, right? So, we get another commitment from North Carolina. This Marquise Bryant. Safety, right?
That is now ā I don't know how many four-stars. It's a bunch of four-stars. At least four or five, I think. Yes. Out of nowhere, Vince decides to weigh in. After the commitment. After the commitment. He tweets, all he says is, LOL, it's called overspending. Now, do we think that is ā that's got to be aimed at Kentucky, right? It's a shot at us. Yeah, I think it is.
Now, again, I love the guy. I can't help it. He's like one of my friends. I can't help it. And he amuses me. There are very few people that amuse me more than Vince. Vince is one of those people I just look at him and I start smiling. But what's he doing? I think he's got one eye on what Louisville's doing and one eye on what Kentucky's doing. They weren't even recruiting that guy.
Like, why does he? I think because he still feels, like, partly responsible for what we do over here because he helped build what we had. Okay, but this is a completely different regime. Yep. It's a completely different group of people. You know he's listening right now, too. I'm sure he is listening. I love you, Vince. Like, I love you. What's up? What's up, big dog? But come on, man.

Chapter 6: How do fans perceive the upcoming football season?
Last night, so if you watch game three, he had a big turnover at the end of the game. Yes, he did. LeBron stole it from him. The Rockets blew the game. But last night he got him back. Rockets up three. Momentum's all in the Lakers' favor. He drives down the court, hits a mid-range jumper, puts him up five. LeBron takes the ball. He picks LeBron's pocket.
Picks him, goes down and gets a dunk, and they win the game. When it was over, Shaq, Kenny, and Charles interviewed him, which was very cool to watch. Go Reed Shepard. I was happy for him last night. I think right before that, LeBron had kind of shoulder shimmied Reed. Yeah, LeBron, did you see that, Shannon? LeBron kind of gave him a shoulder there.
I thought that was kind of a rude move by the old man. Do it. That kid's from the 13th region. They know how to fight. I don't know if Reed knows how to fight. Let me tell you something. I like Reed. Reed should not fight LeBron. That ain't going to go well. That's true. You are from the 13th region. I got to be careful not everybody fights. You don't want me to fight LeBron?
But you don't push us around through 13th region. Well, I think LeBron can push him around. I ain't pushing around Reed Shepard. I'm still glad he got that steal. I was happy for him. 13th region don't play. Which led to a conversation that I wanted to involve you in real quick. In my lifetime, okay, so let's just start since 1980. All right.
Who would be the starting five for the all-13th region team? Oh, my. Okay, so I'm going to give you my picks. All right. Richie. Yes. Reed.
Yes.
Charles Thomas.
Yes.
I thought of one more immediately. Who? Petrowski. Tony Petrowski. So then I think the fifth one is, do you want to go Trent Noah or Nick Sanford? Two Harlan Countians for the last one. Or Wawa Jones. Wawa's not in my lifetime.

Chapter 7: What are the implications of the expanded NCAA tournament?
But you're good with me on Clarence Thomas, Petroski, Richie, and Reed. Those four are a given. Nobody's taking those four off your mantle. I think it would be cool for somebody that's not me because I don't know the state good enough. They should do an all every region all time. Oh, that'd be awesome. All first, second, through the 16th region, all-time team.
I think that would be a really cool exercise for somebody that really knows high school basketball to do. I think that would just be a neat way because that would be, what, 64, 80 players that you could kind of celebrate as a thing. And you base it just on their high school career.
Just on high school career. Just on high school.
So, like, Todd Cox of Virgie is going to be on it. That's a great one. Yeah. Whether or not he would have been on it otherwise. Who's next? Kyle. Kyle, go ahead. Todd May.
I said Todd May. Hey, how are you guys doing?
First time in a long time. Todd Cox is Harlan. Todd May is Verge.
Go ahead.
Todd Cox is Harlan.
Can you hear me?

Chapter 8: How do social media platforms influence fan opinions?
They need to go and do that so that people feel a connection to the person running their university. That's actually an excellent idea. Get to know why people love this university so much. You and I get an advantage that very few people do. I'm not going to say we know the fan base better than anybody, because we go everywhere, right?
You and I talk not only to the people that are given the most money. We are in every town. I mean, you and I have been to ā we've done shows in like 88 of the 120 counties. I've been to every county. The AD needs to do that. Cal did a lot of that in the early years. He did. He did a lot of that because of his book tour. He went to all those places.
I just think you get a sense more when you are out amongst them of what this means to people. And I think that would be very important. And people appreciate it. They appreciate it. This fan base wants to not like physically touch you, but almost metaphorically touch you. And I think that's important. One of the best things Cal's did when he took the championship trophy on that bus tour.
That was great. And there were crowds everywhere. And there weren't just crowds where we stopped. There were crowds when we would pass places on the road. And it's like, You can say you get it, but until you see it and feel it, it's not the same. Right. And I would like the new AD to do that. Will Stein and Mark Pope kind of got some of that because they played here, so they were around it.
But I don't know that the administrators, I think they're too detached from it. They don't see it, and I think they should do that. We'll take a break. We'll come right back. This is KSR. 2%. That is the number of people who take the stairs when there is also an escalator available.
I'm Michael Easter, and on my podcast, 2%, I break down the science of mental toughness, fitness, and building resilience in our strange modern world. I'll be speaking with writers, researchers, and other health and fitness experts and more to look past the impractical and way too complex pseudoscience that dominates the wellness industry.
We really believe that seed oils were inherently inflammatory.
We got it wrong. Many of the problems that we are freaked out about in the world are the result of stress.
Put yourself through some hardships, and you will come out on the other side a happier, more fulfilled, healthier person.
