Welcome to NFL Cover Zero. It is eight days before the start of the NFL season. Matt Jones, Drew Franklin, and Billy R. Sports. Ready to get going. We sorry we missed last week. It was a hectic week with a lot going on. And so we just decided to skip it. Move to this week, finish our previews of the divisions and get ready. And Drew, it's nice uh to have football back in our lives here starting in now eight days.

I didn't watch a lot of this.
Had our big cut down Sunday where the roster shook out and now we're just staring down, kicking off the actual season coming up. I kinda
go through the same thing on preseason. And this goes back way. I get I look at the schedule and I get excited, especially on a Saturday, because NFL Network will have like a game at one, a game at four, a game at seven, a game at ten. I'm like, man, I can just sit here, watch four straight NFL games and not move. And by the second quarter of the first game, I'm like Yeah. Who are these people?
It does take a hit when you've got guys trying to make the team. I mean we all know the draft picks, we all know the big names. But when it's the fourth quarter of a Raiders preseason game and the skies that you know aren't gonna make the team, it can be hard to hold your own.
Suggest for these preseason team games, I think they should do what they do on the NFL draft. You know, when ABC's coverage of the NFL draft is basically for moms, and they're just like, hey, he has a dog named Sparky. And then, like, that's what you I need that for this. You need to tell, like, the guy on the hard knocks. There's the dude who was like a substitute teacher and a real estate agent. Now He's trying to make wide receiver. I need those for these games because they just tell me they'll be like, you know, the right guard spot is down to Franklin and Rutledge. Today's a big day. And I'm like, Well, who are Franklin and Rutledge? Is that the show with Zach Morris, the the legal show? That's Franklin and Bash.
Okay. But uh I think we need some more of that.
Yeah, let's learn more about the people off the field. We love football, but like uh when you were out a couple weeks ago, Billy and I mentioned there's a there's a Bengals receiver who drives from DoorDash and like no one has ever wanted him ever at any level of football, but he might make the Bingles.
