This is a link post. Palisade Research have released out a long-form video about the history of AI and how no one understands modern AI systems. The video was made by Petr Lebedev, Palisade's Science Communication lead. The main goal is to get people to understand what “AIs aren’t programmed, they’re grown" means. The style is focused on being entertaining and educational. It aims to not feel like a typical “AI safety comms” video, and gives the audience a lot more context than usual. I think the video is a great introduction to AI, and it does a good job of explaining some of the background arguments for AI risk.
