Chapter 1: What is discussed at the start of this section?
I'm joined by D-Triple-O-G, William Mason, and the bro, Lukey Stowe, who's just running around doing shit. There's a good reason, bud. There is a good reason. This is an emergency podcast, or a filming of an emergency podcast, because... Mate, you mentioned it on Thursday. We're off to PNG tomorrow. Yeah, we're off. Right after the Thursday session, we just β I went, all right, fuck it.
I'm going to call Seamus, see what's going on, if he wants us over there or not. And he goes β Give me a minute, right, because he's obviously β they're going to be doing β it's going to be a big week, obviously, with the announcing of, I think, some signings and with the coach being there. So it coincides with everything there.
And then, well, I think we're travelling with the Hello Sports boys. Yep.
Chapter 2: What emergency situation prompts the podcast?
The bye round. Yep. Yeah, so we're all going over. Channel 9 as well. Channel 9. I think it's going to be a really big deal. Zach Bailey. So, yeah, it'll be good. We can get amongst it. Pretty cool opportunity.
Chapter 3: What are the plans for the trip to Papua New Guinea?
So, because of that, we are filming whilst the Manly Panthers game is live. So, you're in for three minutes. It's three minutes to go. This is a little mini stream for you guys. 18-16. As we watch Oluwatu trying to fucking love the fucking big beast. Oh, what do you reckon? So, there's three minutes to go. Penrith are in front, 18-16. And what's his name? Cogger.
Cogger just returned back from the sin bin. Right. I can't believe they pulled Jakey up for that forward pass. Come on, man. Here we go. Two-point field goal, Brooks. No, no. Fakey. Or was that Walshie? Jeez, he goes all right. That young kid. I like him, man. Go, go, go. I like him. It's not panic stage.
That's playing on? Is it? Who's that? Oh, who was that through the middle?
Lehigh.
Lehigh.
Penrith never lose games like this. We're not going to be able to do a full review on this game, so just your thoughts on Joey Walsh a little bit as we talk this game out, mate. I like him. He's left to right, squares up good. He doesn't look like he doesn't belong out there. Put it that way. You know when you see some kids and you're like, ah, God, he's got a fair bit of work to do? Yeah.
Defensively good. His confidence level's not short.

Chapter 4: How do the hosts feel about their upcoming experiences?
Yeah. He thinks he fucking belongs out there. Yeah, he's got a bit of frame. That's a great thing. Yeah. Look who he's playing against. Greatest side of all time. I love his first two plays. He's got a couple of touches. Nathan nearly strips him apart. There we go. One more crack at it. One more crack. Two minutes to go. Nathan Cleary nearly goes through. Offload. Give you one more set.
Foz is up. Foz falls up. Foz falls last a month. What have you got, four in a row? Oh, you're mocking him now, aren't you? No, no, no. You don't want Foz to get four. Your boy Foz. Your boy Foz now. The part that I love the most and it matches up with Foz as well, Joey Walsh, those first two tackles, gets down on kick chase.
You know how whenever Chez would put in a kick, Foz would chase the shit out of it all the time and he got down for the first two tackles, really set himself up for the fifth. Brownie played the fucking ball. He's trying to fight everyone. Here we go. Here we go. Do you go the two? He's going to have a crack. No, I wouldn't. Oh, Joey Walsh.
No.
He's gone the lefty. No. Yuck. At least he had a crack for it and then just like put a kick up. If he did a fake right kick left. That's the thing. Straight. It was a doll. That would have been iconic. I like him. Was he right foot or left foot? He was right foot. He started on the right. Fucking brilliant. They took it away from him and he was about five, ten metres short.
Oh, they don't lose these ones. Valiant effort, but from Manly, they're the real deal. They are.
Mm-hmm.
Penrith weren't β they were up for this. Yeah, I agree. They were not fucking β they didn't turn up going, oh, we're going to run over these blokes. Oluwatu's on a tear, mate. Yep. I know they're talking about Presto for right side back row, but β About three weeks ago they were. Yeah, when they played. But he's β He has to be in contention. He needs to start.
A couple of years ago when they put him in origin, put him on the bench and put him in the middle, that ain't him. He's a starter. Imagine what 10 minutes would look like. Fucking yuck. Fuck. Fozball comes to an end. They're fucking contenders, mate. Yeah. They are the real deal. Oh, what's he doing? Kevin Iroh. That's the Sammy Walker.

Chapter 5: What are the insights on the current state of the Storm?
I already said it three years ago. What would I want to say again? Yeah, we came up with this idea ages ago. It's like they just don't care. Six o'clock to 6.30. Do you want to take your take back? Take your take back. And I'll clip it.
Chapter 6: How do players cope with a losing streak in rugby?
I'll take the take back and then I'll clip it. That's the best. Nah, fuck. I'm all with it, but I obviously don't care. Yeah. It needs to be done. You're right, but it's fucking β I feel like we're wasting space. It was a lot of hard work. This one comes from James Gozzo. Love the N-O of this episode, boys. L1 from Day One. Would like your perspective on the storm at the moment.
Chapter 7: What are the implications of injuries on team performance?
I feel like it's a mix of trauma from Ali and Tui. Losing some players. Losing two grand finals in a row. and now the players are playing with zero confidence. Curious, when you gents were playing in the slump, what would a coach or team do to pull you out of it outside of getting on another one on the win column?
I've been thinking about how I manage my staff and organise offside events when the vibe is off. Could you see the Stolen Boys having a trip away, reset, anything like that? Love your work, boys. Yeah. Firstly, not shout out, but first of all, thoughts are with Craig Bellamy. Oh, yeah, because that dropped on Friday. Yeah, and his family.
They've said it's a neuro-degenerate sort of thing going on. We don't know everything, but I love Craig Bellamy. He's a good friend of mine, a mentor, and a great human, great coach.
Chapter 8: How do the Knights' strategies impact their success?
And he's very beloved in the rugby league community. So all my thoughts and prayers are going to him and his family. Hopefully they're doing okay. Yeah. It's tough. It's a tough situation for everyone up there. Frank Panisi was in the presser after, spoke on his behalf.
The reason I sort of forgot is because we talked about it on radio and I thought we talked about it and I forgot to put it on the show. No, I didn't. So well done for bringing it up, Mace. But, yeah, he β Look, I sort of lean on a similar situation that I had when I was starting my career and I've talked about it. I think I said this on radio as well.
Michael Hagen was going through some health stuff, different issues but still health stuff. And the stress that comes with rugby league, it's a big decision for him and his family and the organisation and the club and the players about what's the process moving forward.
No matter what happens, obviously he's going to be β you can tell by the support that he's got from not only the rugby league community, the sporting community. He is an iconic person in our country. And, you know, thoughts are with him from every level. I will just say rugby league, you've given so much to the game. Oh, yeah.
If he has to walk away from the game for his health and family, you've got everyone's blessing belly. But the thing is β Everyone's. And this is what makes him so great though, Mace. He fucking won't. I think just because he's β and not even knowing him like you do, just watching the legend from afar, I don't think he's got quit in him. No, he doesn't.
But I think, you know, like without being a doctor and medical advice and all that, you just hope that he's not going to let that get in the way and ever think that anyone would think anything less of him if he decided to just step away, even if it was just for a couple of weeks or a month or whatever. A couple of interims in here.
But I don't think β I honestly just knowing him on a personal level, I don't think he's going to β Let this one go. I think he'll ride it all the way to the end with the players that he's got. And the players will live for him. They have to, mate. And he'll be with them. So when you put things in perspective, right, he'll be thinking, yeah, it's just rugby league.
Yeah, you could tell Harry was rattled in the press. It would rattle. Most of those guys, man. All of them. Because Belling's, you know, what you see on TV is not the guy that you see at training. Well, let's get to a couple of things in the game then. Well said too, mate. Thanks for bringing that up, mate. Because I didn't have that in the notes.
Eight plus tackles against the Melbourne Storm this year. And the opposition score, check this one out, boys. This was on the Fox League Lab during the game, 53% of the time. So if they concede more than eight tackles. Can't fucking defend more than eight. The opposition score against them. That is so un-Melbourne-like. And you could see their desperation was on full display for the first 60.
