Hey everybody, welcome back to the Live Ultralight Podcast Powered by After Vitals. Today we're going to be doing another episode of the Ask OV podcast. So we've got Brigham, our lead designer here, as usual, to go through listener questions, musings, uh, or other takeaways that we've had recently that we want to share. These are slightly short shorter form episodes, so about 30 minutes of just hammering through questions. Now, if you have questions, You can go straight to our website, jump on the little chat widget, or you can email us as support out revitals. You can ask a question. on um our YouTube channel. There's there's many ways, or there's a speak pipe pipe speak pipe link uh down in the description where you'll be able to record an audio uh question to us.
But send in your questions, happy to answer those. Um they definitely do not need to be about product. We love answering questions about real world experiences, um, questions about backpacking, questions about anything to do with getting out in the mountains and and enjoying that experience. So It's been a minute since we've been on. It's been a very busy summer. How have things been going really quick before we jump into these these uh questions?
Been going well. Yeah, it's crazy busy summer. This is my only full week in the office the whole month, so I've won't be in the office I guess I'll be in the office two days, uh the last like couple of days of July.
And that's not just 'cause we give incredibly gracious paid time off. You've been out backpacking.
Backpacking. Yeah.
Like almost all of your time out has been backpacking.
Yeah. No, it has. And then Next week is a is a is a family vacation, but uh The week after that's the Colorado Trail. So Mm-hmm. And then yeah, I'm home for like three days and then going worth that's when we're doing our Idaho trip is like right after yeah, the week after the Colorado trail.
Yeah, it's been busy. It's been busy for sure. June was June was wild. I couldn't believe it was has already come and gone and now we're ten days into July, which I feel like July just started, but Kinda same in my world. Been doing a lot of backpacking, a lot of trips with the family, camping trips, things like that. And now we're getting into the heart of of more and more backpacking. So Got to go spend uh um some time up in Wyoming doing some backpacking and like saying a week in change. We're gonna be heading out to Colorado to do our OV one hundred hike. Um On the Colorado Trail. We had to we actually had to manipulate our route. We're gonna have to skip ahead a section because of the willow fire going on outside of Leadville, um, which is a bummer, but maybe it'll be good thing after it's all said and done.
This next section of the trail looks really good. It we're gonna take the West Collegiate loop um around there. And I was really looking forward to it because it's big mountains, big wilderness looking area. Which is what really calls to me. Um, but we're gonna have to skip ahead where we're gonna be kind of going like Up and through mountain passes and then back down, crossing a few more roads along the way. Um, still looks like it's gonna be really pretty in a lot of high country. But um at least next year when we come back into that section, that'll probably be our last leg on the Colorado Trail. We'll only have like 30, 40 miles left to go down into Denver. And so realistically I may Look for an opportunity to like day hike or day run that trail when I'm in c when I'm in Denver something.
Yeah, exactly. But it might not be worth a like a full dedicated trip to do those. And I think I don't know this for sure, but it sure seems like those are probably the thirty, forty miles that are least enjoyed of the four hundred plus mile trail. So Anyways, looking forward to doing that. Um, been mapping out the trail, getting things ready and organized for that. And I really this weekend I'm hoping to sit down and kind of go through some food plants. And make sure I've got the meals that I want to have, but also the snacks that I wanna have.
