Everyone is afforded by the US Constitution of the presumption of innocence until you are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. However, in order for the government to take away your life, liberty or property, you must go through due process. The burden of proof is always on the government and therefore they must turn over all evidence that they have gathered against you, and even the evidence that they have that could potentially exonerate you!
