Chapter 1: What insights do the cast bios reveal about potential villains?
Hello and welcome back to the Maths Funny Podcast with me Joshua Fox and as I assume all of you seen on the internet yesterday Channel 9 have now officially announced the full cast for this year's upcoming season of Married at First Sight along with like little bios and write-ups of each participant and it's always funny when they do this because you can kind of tell just from how Channel 9 like choose to describe them like who are going to be the ones that we love and
Who are going to be the ones that piss us off and who are going to be the ones that like bring the drama. And like they know what they're doing when they use words like bubbly and warm to describe some of the cast and then words like fiery, passionate, brutally honest for others. Like they are soft launching people. their characters on this show.
And rather than me sit and read through each of the bios on my own, I thought I would try something new and hopefully funny here. And I've invited three listeners of this podcast, Sarah, Tab, and Jesse, plus Pedro, the producer who injected himself in this, to join me as I pulled up each cast member's kind of bio and write up on the big screen in my studio.
And then as we read through them together, I had Sarah type Jesse and Pedro vote whether they think the cast member is going to be a hero or villain, making their assumptions solely like off how Channel 9 have described them and their pictures and poses. And this is me kind of
testing how to make some episodes of this podcast like a bit more interactive this season and like most of the time it will just be me bringing the updates or spoilers like usual and like last year and sometimes i'll be joined by cast members but like i don't know i think i mentioned this in the last one when there's like a big talking point or something i want to start getting other voices on to chat with me you know just to have discussions on stuff especially like female point of views and like i'd rather get like
you guys who listen rather than you know just some random celebrity or whatever like of a podcast would like i don't know like like you guys are the reason this podcast is a thing and if you want to play along now as you listen go to the maths funny instagram or facebook where i've posted a grid of all the brides and grooms together with little name tags so you can kind of see the faces as we read through their descriptions enjoy
So Beck is a 35 year old account manager who has voted Adelaide's most eligible bachelorette twice. And she describes herself as loud, outspoken and never shy of being the center of attention. What do we think? Villain. Villain.
I think she's psycho, she's half Greek.
Chris is a 31-year-old boy's boy who hates compromising, refuses to change his ways, bends the truth when needed and admits to being controversial just for the sake of it. He says that he's wet and if he turns around and sees a short, overweight blonde, he's gone.

Chapter 2: How do the guests evaluate the first cast member, Beck?
She says, I don't know if it's going to be a man or a woman. But then Channel 9 ruined that because when you look at the cast bios, there's equal men and women.
So she married a man?
Yeah.
I feel that she's going to be the loony one in this series. What's her name? Julia. No, what was the one from a few years ago? The Delulu from a few years ago? We all loved her.
Lucinda Light.
Oh, love her. She's the Lucinda of this season. Who was the lady last year? Morena. Morena, Morena. Nah, Morena was... Nah, this is Lucinda.
Now, Philip is 37 and they call him a carpenter, but he's actually sells motivational courses on Instagram to men who want to learn about traditional values and how to like, men are the provider, women are the carers. He's very into that.
So he lies to people.

Chapter 3: What makes Chris a controversial character in the cast?
Did you just describe Andrew Tate? He looks like last year's Ryan. He's even got the neck, the same neck.
Rebecca is 51-year-old leasing manager from Melbourne who's described as a no-nonsense fashionista who wants someone that loves the finer things in life. She's a 19-year-old son who has been her priority, but now he's moved out, she's ready to find a bloke to bring some fun to her already great life. Hero and boring next.
Um, no, I feel like she's going to be the mom.
Well, she's the oldest bride.
She likes the finer things in life. Yeah, but I feel like. Champagne and dining out. So I feel like if she doesn't get her rich sugar daddy. No, but hold on. I don't think the, she's looking for someone with money. I think she's got her own money. She's set.
right now we've got scott 33 year old multiple business owner from queensland who is a workaholic that wants to build an empire he's looking for a woman to support him while he's working towards this in the past scott says he's lost relationships because he's fallen out of routine and lost sight of his business goals how does that even work like what's your relationship got to do with your work well it sounds like he's looking for an assistant not a wife
Yeah, so I'm gonna, that's just- Like everything's about work. No thanks. But the life he has created leaves him with little time for someone special. So why are you going on maths 4? Like, why do you want to get married if you don't have time?
Also, you have to take three months off work to do maths.
Exactly, but yeah.

Chapter 4: How does Luke's backstory influence his character perception?
Brooke is a 27 year old model who says she'll have no qualms giving her bloke a makeover if he dresses like shit. She is after a man who's mature, trustworthy and she's been cheated on by pretty much every guy she's ever been with.
She also mentions her star sign which is true villain nature. So she's waiting like if she got married and her stars didn't align, she's a villain.
So when you as a woman, when you see a woman talking about star signs, do you think villain?
I just think like you're crazy, man. There's freaking stars in the sky. Who cares?
All right. Well, that's the cast.
Good luck cutting that off.
