What is the opening introduction and who is joining the podcast?
Welcome everybody to the Making Awesome podcast. This is episode 260, and 60 is going to be at least a theme for a little bit during this show, because if all goes well, we will also be crossing 60,000 subscribers while we are live. But we are joined by the ever-eppervescent Mr. David Tobin here and We're gonna need The Backstreet Boys from you good sir.
The Backstreet Boys?
That's right. That's right. The Backstreet Boys. The who you
are, the where you're from, the
what you did and as long as you love me.
That's amazing. That's awesome. Uh is there chat running that I should be looking at as well? Yes, there is a live chat. Yes. Yeah. Okay. It's on the it's on YouTube, right? That's the one I should be looking at.
Yes, sir.
Just wanna make sure. Um I'm I'm muting that um right now, but I just want to make sure we get that um I should have had this done in advance, I'm sorry. But it's fine. We do it all live too.
I I would recommend personally. Pop the chat out, then close the window so you've only got the popped out chat.
That's fair. Exactly Hey, that's that's exactly what I'm doing, and that's what I do with three D printing nerd, believe it or not. So that way I'm not distracted by the delayed video and look at that chat. Look at all those beautiful people. Look at
all those beautiful people hanging out. I'm not in the chat. I should be in the chat
with my own, but I'm not in there. Anyway, um for those of you who don't know me, uh, which is probably all of you, uh, my name is David Tobin. I'm currently the executive producer of the HIT educational show 3D Printing Nerd. I travel around the planet with the wonderful Joel Telling and we do all sorts of really neat stuff. And then I'm the executive director of the Community Manufacturing Initiative, a nonprofit organization that works with manufacturing all across the board, help create resources from open source software to print farms to educational resources. All sorts of stuff like that. Um our partners are in the experiential co consortium. Is what we're part of our MIT, Cornell, Smithsonian, DECA, uh, Spark Fun, DigiKey, DARPA.
So many others. It's pretty amazing. And then I also run a company called Audio Jack. And we make audio based movies and you can go to audiojack dot com and check that out. Are you guys still on United Live? Whoa, I'm sorry, w you guys talked at the same time. Go ahead, Jacob.
I I was gonna say I can personally write Audio Jack. I got a a lovely account and I use it on every flight. And once again, Jacob,
you're on the wrong mic. Uh Oh Why does it do this? Is it still on United flights?
Are we on United? No, I took it off United a little bit ago because um oddly enough, United wanted to start charging everyone that they were paying to have in their entertainment in the back and things like that because you're getting all this exposure. And I'm like, You're paying for a service. This is crazy. Yeah. And it was just one of those things where I said, No, I'm done with this and then now I have a whole bunch of things going on with some a bunch of international airline companies.
Nice.
Uh which is gonna be really nice that'll be coming out uh for audio jack. But yeah, for the most part, download the app. You know, I mean that's where it's all at. It's all on the mobile app, it's free. It's a great way to engage. Working on a couple new ones right now. And uh should have some new ones coming out. Did one called print in the history category. that I think you should all check out. It is quite awesome. A couple of Easter eggs for the uh additive nerds in in here and stuff like that.
Oh you You got your hands in everything, don't you?
A little bit. Hey uh Daniel, I see some uh familiar And we got bearded printer in there. Hey, cool.
Who just dropped five gifted memberships? Thank you for that, sir. Daniel, Jared, Hyperflow, Lisa Harsh, and Louise Yep Yep I think I got that right. Thank you very much, Beer Prayer for those gifted subs. You are you are a scholar and a gentleman, good sir. And if you do all want to support, you know. Throw a little love in that chat if you don't mind.
