Why does forgiveness affect our emotional health and skin care?
We've been talking a lot about emotional regulation lately and how it affects your skin care and all the other systems in your body. You know, we're learning how to bring our bodies and our emotions all back into a healthier place. And I think eventually when we talk about that, we have to talk about forgiveness. Right. Because sometimes the stress we're carrying is not coming from what happened actually today, but it's coming from something that happened many years ago. It could be something as simple as something someone said, something they did, or maybe even just an entire season where you felt rejected or criticized, maybe even betrayed. or blindsided by something, right? And so even though that happened many years ago, and you've moved on since then, that's what we do.
We're really good at it. But moving on and healing are not actually the same thing. And it's really hard to make life beautiful again, when there's a part of you that is still holding on to that moment in time that hurt you. And so today I want to talk about forgiveness, but probably in a little bit of a different way than you've heard it before, because I don't want you to just forgive so that you can get over it. Right. I want you to begin seeing what God may have done with you and through you in those years. And so there's a lot of really cool things to look at. The strength that he built in you, the wisdom that you gained from it, the things that you can now see differently than you did before.
And maybe even now the woman you became because of what you had to walk through that you probably would have never chosen on your own. Because Romans 8.28 does tell us that God works all things together for the good of those who love him. And it doesn't say that everything that happens to us is good, right? But God is very, very good at refusing to waste any of the things that happen. And that is where I want you to go today with me. You know, how do we forgive and begin to see the gold that God has been putting into some of those cracks in our lives? Hello, gorgeous. Are you feeling weighed down by the physical and emotional changes that come with midlife and feeling lost and wondering who you are now that your kids are grown?
Do you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and barely recognize the woman staring back at you? Welcome to Making Life Beautiful Again, where midlife women find the guidance and encouragement you need to navigate this unique season with confidence and grace. Hey, I'm Michelle, an empty nester, grandma, and Jesus lover. I know firsthand what it feels like to wrestle with self-doubt and inner critic during midlife. And I tried every beauty trick in the book, hoping to feel better. But the mirror kept reflecting my fears. And I had to ask myself, am I still beautiful? Do I still have a purpose? And then one day I had a breakthrough and fell in love with the incredible woman in the mirror, the woman God designed me to be.
And I'm here to share it all with you. So if you're ready for a simple way to step back into your shoes and live midlife like you mean it, this podcast is for you. So grab your water bottle, lace up your walking shoes, and let's get started making life beautiful again. And so if you're new here, this might feel like a little bit of a different conversation for a health and beauty strategist, I know. But emotional regulation is actually one of my pillars of beauty.
How can we recognize when an old wound is resurfacing today?
Because I don't believe beauty is only about what we put onto our skin and what we see when we look in the mirror. We are body, mind, and spirit. And so when one of those areas is carrying something heavy for a long time, eventually it starts showing up everywhere else in our lives too, right? It can show up in how we sleep, the way we hold tension in our face and in our bodies, the way we react to things, the way we talk to ourselves. And so even even the way we show up around other people. And so this is a big part of why I started making life beautiful again in the first place. You know, I want women to feel good in their skin and I also want them taking care of their health.
