Thank you for joining me today. My first guest here at the Peerless Showcase is Anna Shaheen from Audio Logic.

How are you?
I'm doing really well. This is a really interesting event. It's my first time here at the Peerless event. Um how have you found it? Yeah, really good. I think it's a really good mix of lots of different brands. Uh obviously with there's a lot of manufacturers that we work with already, so it's always good to catch up with people. But I've already spoken to a few manufacturers that we haven't dealt with and learned quite a bit, which is really nice.
Fantastic, which which you want to do really, isn't it? You want to get out and see new people, network, and that's what this industry is about, isn't it?
Yeah, it's always nice to network with the people that you know well and just, you know, it's always nice to catch up with them. But the whole point is also meeting new people and I love doing that and this is a great opportunity to do so.
Fantastic. Well the main premise of having you on this podcast with me today is to talk about your career. your journey into A V. So my first question to you will be Can you share your career journey and what led you into the world of A V?
Yeah, sure. So it is a bit of a complicated career journey that I've had. Um obviously I'm American living in the UK and I previously had a life studying speech pathology and audiology. And I've always really been into um audio and audio engineering and I ended up finding a degree in the UK to study audio engineering at and moved to the UK to do so. And while I was studying, uh I worked at the venue that we had on campus. It was a fifteen hundred capacity venue in really just fell in love with like production and putting things together and I kind of always loved the You've done your job well if no one knows that you're there, kind of thing. And I think I love that about productions in general. And when I graduated I found Audio Logic and there was someone who actually did the same degree as me but a few years before that was already working here.
And so I thought I'd put an application in because I I knew him and I was like, Oh, he's quite smart.
There was some synergy.
Yeah, a little bit. And then so they were kind of basically looking for a copy paste of him and I thought I'd throw my hat like throw my name in the hat. and ended up doing a lot of research into A V and I found out that actually um you know where I had fallen in love with production, I'd also fallen in love with tech and how things work and how things are put together and I did a hardware build for my final major project and I found out that an A V is kind of like where all the latest tech in that kind of stuff comes through and I felt like a really good fit for me. So I applied and I was very lucky and they offered me the job.
Fantastic.
That was eight years ago almost, which is kind of crazy to think about and I'm still at the same company, Audiologic, through and through and I love it there and I I do love that we get to work with all of the latest um the latest audio tech and control and everything. Um And so I've like I said, I've been there for eight years now, and a couple years ago I got promoted to be application support manager. So now I look after our team of engineers.
How did Anna’s role evolve at Audiologic and what does her current position involve?
Yeah.
Not only that, I still obviously get involved in tech support and I still get involved in commissioning. Um, but obviously now looking after a team of five un engineers, which is um amazing and very rewarding.
I mean there's a great group of people there, aren't there?
