Hi, everyone. Welcome back to Medium at Large. Today, I am sitting down with actress, content creator, model, and I'm also very interested to see whether one of her TV shows makes a comeback. Welcome to Medium at Large, Olympia Valance-Bell Chambers.
Yay! I'm so happy to be here.
I'm excited to have you, neighbor. It's so good to have you in the studio.
Literally lives in the same street.
It's just, what are the chances? I mean, there's probably, you know, it's a longer street, but there's longer streets in Melbourne, that's for sure.

Chapter 2: What does Olympia Valance think about spirituality?
And that was the show I was talking about. I want to make a comeback. Like, I mean, when I start reading it, I don't doubt we'll have other things pop in. But why did they, like, stop it? What was the deal?
I feel like it got to a point where the writers and – the producers just weren't seeing eye to eye and it was like... Should we start it again? Well, all the girls in the show want to do it again. Good, okay. We were all devastated. Sometimes when you work on a TV show, especially if it's an all-female cast, not everyone gets along. We were obsessed with each other.
It was such a great work environment, and the show was fun, the costumes were fun, the script was hilarious, and then it was over.
Okay, we can make it come back. I'm going to executive produce it somehow. I have no idea what I'm doing.
You can be my gay best friend.
Oh, I'll star in it. That would be even better, actually.
Like, I'm surprised I didn't actually have one.
Yeah, why didn't you? That's it.
It should have been you.

Chapter 3: How did Olympia Valance's career in acting begin?
I'll stop it.
Anyway.
Here's me going into the AFL. I'm like, all right, you've got 10 seconds. Name all the gay AFL players you know.
It's something I ask Thomas all the time.
I'm like, surely you know some... But it's lovely to be able to sit down with you. And even as we were talking off camera, you've had readings before. You're open to it clearly. What's your sort of experience with the... I don't want to say paranormal because I hate using the word paranormal. Supernatural. Supernatural.
Supernatural is cool. Yeah, I've seen lots over the years. The one that was probably... The most amazing was this beautiful older woman who lived in like Emerald or something and she charged like 20 bucks. And we were in there for two and a half hours. Like she just didn't shut up. And she was so lovely. And my mum came with me.
And at the time, like mum probably had more people that had passed closer to her than I did. But I'm sitting there listening and she would say things like my mum My mum's auntie, who had passed away recently, was like, something on her grave. She was like, I'm just not happy with a broken door on my grave. None of us had been to Springvale Cemetery for so long.
Anyway, my mum ended up going and the little... doors that you put flowers in had like snapped off.
What a thing to say, I love this.

Chapter 4: What challenges did Olympia face while working on Neighbours?
That's so good. Through the stress and everything. The pot of gold at the end of the- Yeah, and he is. He's like- He's very cute.
He's very cute. He looks nothing like me. He's looking more and more like Thomas every day.
He's got your vibe. It sounds funny to say, he's got your vibe though.
Definitely got my vibe.
Like how we define a vibe, yes.
He's 100%. Like Thomas is quite reserved and quiet and he's like very much a cancer. And this kid has, he just, he's very busy. He just doesn't shut up. We were talking about that before. And he's just, they're always smiling, like literally came out of me smiling. And just, you know, he's a people person, like likes to be around people. So do I. Thomas.
Andy.
Not so much.
He's been around too many.

Chapter 5: What experiences has Olympia had with psychics and mediums?
So...
And I don't do it properly. Like sometimes if I just need just a card, like I'll just pull a card. And if I don't like that card, I'll put it back.
What I was about to say, Spirit was telling you off. It's sort of like you have to take the card that you get. Because I've taught myself to stop doing it. But I used to ask questions. I just ask, I don't know how to do tarot properly. Neither do I. You just pick one.
I just pick one.
Exactly. And I'm like. And I was like, oh, I don't really like that. And Spirit's like, no.
That's your card. I'm like, I don't want that to be my card.
I know. So leading back into childhood for you, if I could go and speak to 12-year-old Olympia, what did she want to do with her life? Like was acting something that you were always interested in?
I wanted to be a hairdresser.
A hairdresser? So still creative?

Chapter 6: How has motherhood changed Olympia Valance's perspective?
Okay. Now, instantly for me, when you even walked into the room, you have what I call, it's kind of like your wedding dress, if that makes sense, because it's sort of like you weren't in a wedding dress, obviously, but you had all these people that were walking behind you like they were holding a veil for you. So for me, that always represents not necessarily the spiritual mafia.
Spiritual mafia is more the bodyguards, but yours is definitely the supporter or the support actors, which is an interesting phrase to use. Instantly for me, you've got a very strong female who makes her presence clear. This is separate. There's also a lady who comes forward very strongly, who references passing at a very older age.
She takes on a very grandmotherly role for you, but biologically, she may not be your grandmother. It's like a mentor, not a family friend, but a lady who would have crossed over in her 90s for sure.
Oh, it would have been my, we call it old GR.
Old GR.
Old GR. My mum's grandmother.
You met her? Oh, yeah. Yeah, perfect.
She's almost 100.
Has to be in spirit, though. That's the only thing. Can you get with Rose or Ross or something like that? Ross.

Chapter 7: How does Olympia incorporate spirituality into her daily life?
Take that as validation, though, that irregardless of the meaning that you placed behind the design, spirit really looks at it as a reflection of the wisdom of my girl, which is you. Now, I'm intrigued. What made you design the owl, or why did Thomas want the owl?
He didn't care what he had on him. He's one of those people that would just have whatever. He loves tattoos. Yeah. And he wanted a massive... You know how big his back is.
He just wanted his whole back done. I mean, his back is the size of me as a human. He's got a five foot eight back.
He's like, I don't care. Find something for me. And I'm like, I feel like you need an owl. I feel like you've got real owl energy. And I don't want you to have a... He wanted an animal. I'm like, you're not getting a... A lion or, you know.
It's a cliche, like a dragon.
And it's just not you. You do have lion qualities about you, but you... Or an owl, you're observing, you're wise. Love that. Yeah. I'll show you a photo when we finish this, but it's just huge.
Your whole family acknowledges that because it's the symbolism of the wisdom and the intelligence or the innate wisdom that my girl represents, and especially if the owl was always around you. Now, given that we have said that, I'm obviously not going to give you a home address on the podcast, but I know where you live.
Don't be surprised if you see owls in the tree at the front of the house, or you may even get them in the backyard. Um, the boy after the man. What does that mean? Usually that's males that are named after each other, so that could disappear somewhere in the family as well.
It's my, maybe my, my little brother's the same name as my grandfather.

Chapter 8: What future projects is Olympia Valance considering?
Don't worry about me.
Worry about your other kids.
That sums it up. That's the thing because that leads into where we are now with like, okay, what do you want? What are you going to do? Because whatever you do, but that's fine. You don't need to know right now. Like the biggest issue that I find we all have, I'm guilty of it. You've validated you're guilty of it.
I think a lot of people are, is that we always feel like we need to know the answers to everything right now because that's a society we're conditioned to be in. Like social media generation, the constant 24 news cycle. We have to know everything, everything, everything. If we don't know the answers, we're just simply not meant to.
Now, for you, you've got a very strong ability to build an even stronger public presence if you're wanting that, to be very fair. Like, I know we briefly touched on acting for my own selfish needs. I just wanted Playing for Keeps to come back. But it's sort of more so like they call it the passion project. So it's sort of like, what does Olympia find passion in?
Or if she was to have an even stronger public image around passion, what would that look like? Like it's all hypothetical questions, but because the universe has already put the connectors out, they're waiting, not waiting is the wrong word. They're aligning with you when you're ready for it.
So it's like once you decide, okay, I think I would love to give this a go, or I think business would go well if I endeavoured into this.
universe is like great we've already got the connector here's your line connect the dots the pathway is easy easy is an interesting way to use nothing in life is that easy but it would be aligned for you just don't overthink it if that makes sense they just want to put the pressure off you at the moment to feel like that you need to know i mean you're already doing a lot of other things you're raising the 14 month old as of you know february 2025 at 20 what year are we 2026 something
Five, six?
