Welcome to the Move It Mama podcast. This podcast started many moons ago as a way to connect more with our members. Now, it's a huge connection point for us to talk about anything and everything, connect with our community outside of our workouts, and simply share more about our ebbs, flows, highs, and lows. If you're interested in working out with us, you can sign up for your free trial at moveitmama.co.nz. We hope you enjoy. Hello. Well, well, well, I feel a little bit different today. It is Monday and I'm in my bedroom, but I've got Kirsten Gordon next to me. And normally my podcast is in my office and I'm talking to Sister Jessica, who's living in Christchurch and I'm in Australia. But Jessica is somewhere in the air, far, far away.
So that feels strange. And it doubly feels strange with Kirst sitting next to me on my bed. But we're very, such a, so lucky to have this happen. And I know that many of you, because you've messaged the Move It Mama Instagram and Move It Mama socials, wanting to know about Kirst and how she went over the weekend. So here I am. I'm going to say good morning. Is it morning? Oh. afternoon to her and she can we're sharing a mic so um just bear with us but we hope that you sit back and enjoy and yeah here's Kirsty I think we both feel a little weird about this don't we yeah it is a bit weird I think I need to sit quite close but I probably should have brushed my teeth
I know because Jess is kind of anchoring, isn't she really?
But anyway, it's really funny because before Jess sort of became this quite big person in the Move It Mama world, I suppose I felt like I was kind of the anchor and now I feel like she's taken over the anchoring. So possible. Well, she's on a plane somewhere far away. So we'll do our best. Yeah, I kind of feel like I remember I was thinking about this yesterday when I was driving. Often, obviously, it's been me and Jess on the pod. And then there was a time maybe I went away and her and Sha sort of did a few podcasts. And I remember them thinking, oh, we can't do this without Liz. And I sort of feel like this today that I don't know how to do this without Jess. But I've got you. You're a good replacement.
Yeah, and we're sitting so snugly close to each other. I wonder if you're wanting me to look you in the eye when I'm talking to you. That would be weird.
Okay, so for those of you who don't know, Kirsten, who you probably will know, is one of our Move It Mama trainers, friends, coaches, and she lives with her two little daughters and husband in Sydney. They moved to Sydney over a year ago now, eh? How long has it been? About a year and a half, yeah. How do you feel about, I was interested to know this because I haven't asked you lately. I know it took a long time for you to feel maybe like you'd, you know, you were quite unsettled for a while. How do you feel now about living there? You moved over from Auckland.
I think it took about a year probably to feel really settled. But I think the thing that's sort of hovering over us is the fact that we haven't sold our house in Auckland. We're still renting a house, which we love. We love the area that we live. There's just a little bit of uncertainty around that. So I guess... I still don't feel like my roots are really down. But at the same time, I was thinking about it the other day and I thought I would be really sad if I had to leave. So I suppose that's a good thing.
That's a really good thing. And also we've got to kind of – like I acknowledge how you're feeling because you feel like you can't quite like completely call it home yet because you don't feel as settled as you could be. But – you know, that will come and we have to make the most of each day and enjoy the, you know, like, I just feel like a lot of the time we're vying for more and more and more and want, want, want, and we just have to try and bring us back to like, just enjoy the day and things will work out kind of thing. And you will get that to that point at some point soon.
Yeah, I think so.
I was listening to a podcast before about a woman between two beers when I went for a big walk to listen to it.
