Hey everyone, welcome back to Neurodiversely Speaking. I'm Brittany and Shauna. Thanks for joining us here. Um today we want to talk about um something that really just hits home to our collaborative a practice and approach. Um I wanna share s what I wish every ABA therapist knew about speech language and literacy um with a few caveats. Um, I can't fit a master's degree into this next fifty or uh fifty minutes. Uh certainly. Um and I'm I'm not gonna touch on many, many things that probably could be included in this episode. Um, what I wanted to kind of highlight and what I thought would be cool to share with our listeners is some of the things that if you're a B C B A or a b behavior analyst, that these are some cool things that you could learn from speech pathology.
Again, I'm not I'm just gonna like skim the surface on most things. Um, but I thought, hey, it would be cool to share with our listeners like what we've sort of learned from each other. And so that's the purpose of this episode is like some cool things I think I am constantly sharing with our behavior analysis team, whether that's like the um uh the frontline therapist, whatever you call them, instructor therapists or BTs or whatnot, um, and some tips that I find I'm giving to them. Um and then also some cool things that I've uh had really good discussions with BC CBA's in the past. So that's sort of my idea for today.

Um, working on the team. So, what do we do as uh speech pathologists? Um, one of the biggest things that I want to start with is some confusion. Um, and this happened to me actually just uh yes this yesterday. I don't know, this earlier this week in the clinic, the mom was saying, like, oh, he's been in speech therapy and he's doing speech therapy, and this kid came, and I was like, There's no way that he was doing speech therapy.
