But it's proving that consumers are going out and purchasing different subscriptions, not just going to Verizon Fios and now I get this shit, that's the only bill I pay. They'll pay a bunch of different people. But typically people with Spotify or Apple will Apple to pay for Spotify. Most people do the free shit. Yeah. So music for the most regard is free right now. Yeah.

Yeah. To take that risk at this point in your career, I feel like where you're at, this is the most important time to make those records that aren't this. I agree.

everything that they're saying that's tough it's the type of beats you pick you gotta pick minimal production a lot of people are overly produced you know because producers are too no not to Jaleel Beats I love Jaleel Beats but I'm just using that as an example of like a lot of production going on trying to give a story over it's like it's hard because the beat is sort of the main character you know what I mean like that's why I always tell people like if you listen to my catalog you may not even think that Russ is an ill producer
But if you heard the beats on my computer, you'd be like, oh shit. And it's because I don't pick what I'm going to make a song out of as far as what are my best beats, I pick what am I going to sound best on. What can I deliver my message on the best? Losing Control is not a crazy beat if you play the beat by yourself. What they want is not a crazy beat. But I sound the best on it.
That's my pocket. And that's what being an artist is instead of ego lifting. You're in the gym. You're lifting up 100-pound dumbbells. You can't. Relax.
Pick up the 50s.
Same with artists who go into the studio and they get played 10 beats and... the first eight beats they hate, right? Because maybe they're not hard to them. The last two beats they love, but then you don't sound good on them. Go get on the beats you sound good on and you'll be able to make a better song out of those than the ones where the beats are hard as fuck.
That's the difference between R&B and rap. I feel like people play beat packs and rappers try to get on the beat they like the most where R&B, we build around what you write and what you're singing. Go in there, do some melodies. Let's just put a guitar lick. Let's just put some drums and then we'll build around what you're doing. And I think more rappers need to do that shit.
But I think that's why Chomp 2 sounds incredible. Because... I'm always approaching music from the ear test. It has to sound good. I have to sound good on the beat. And even who I decide to put on the beats, like Mozzy sounds incredible on Enjoy the View. Papu sounds incredible on Bugger. Jadakiss sounds incredible. Because I know what I'm doing. I produce.
