Chapter 1: What is discussed at the start of this section?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media. Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.
This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. So let's get to it. 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me. I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.

Chapter 2: How do the hosts feel about the upcoming weekend events?
No, or it was good. It was strong. You only need one rum punch. The ones they sell outside during Labor Day, the Labor Day parade.
No, no, no, no, no. You never, ever drink that, baby D. When niggas got their coolers on the block, you never drink that. Nah, you got to. Nah, hell nah. Hell nah. I told you about my night. I drank like three Nutcrackers. Oh my God.
Yeah, because you drank too many. You only supposed to have one. That's the purpose of our conversation.
But we was outside from 4 p.m. to like 2 in the morning. It was one of those summer days. We were just on Lenox Ave drinking. Still don't know how I made it home. Nutcracker hangover. It's the worst in the world. That and champagne. That much sugar. Yeah. I mean, champagne and cognac together. I don't know how y'all do that. But where we at this weekend? I know we back outside. What's up?
Oh, I'm going to Syracuse. I don't know. What's up with Syracuse? You've been to Syracuse a lot.
We out to Syracuse. Is it fam time? Yeah.
Okay.
You can always, you know what I'm saying? Whenever you tell me fam time, I got to just pump the brakes.
Like, well, how you be in Virginia? You just fam time, right? 100%.

Chapter 3: What are the highlights of the new music releases?
Let it go. It's over. We're grown now. Take it out. I predict in two years the tongue rings are coming back because the K-pop girls are going to steal it from like early 2000 black girls. I can see it. That's like the last thing they haven't stole yet. I can see the K-pop girls making tongue rings a thing again.
No, they damn please don't bring this shit back. The eyebrow? The I'm gay piercing? I hate that piercing. That's what that is? Whenever I see somebody with that, I assume they're a lesbian. That piercing right there?
Yeah, when I see guys with that, I think they're lesbians too. That's really what happened. Like when men had that piercing, I'm like, he's a lesbian. Look at him. He's just fluid, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. It's all good. We love everybody. Is the nose ring hoop earring combo, is that gone now? I hope so. I think after COVID, they kind of got rid of that.
No, the men with the, let me tell you something. The men with the dangly cross earring. And they not religious? You don't like that? Already. They don't like me. I don't like them and they don't like me. All right. What didn't you like about them? You know them here. You know, you know, you know, they either like men or they like white women. I promise you. Damn.
They either like men or they like white women.
That's a crazy spectrum to be on. You either like men or white women.
Yeah.
That's it? Those are my only options?
Okay.

Chapter 4: What mixtape is debated as the best in this segment?
Well, for the sake of time, I think it goes to Rich Forever. But again, that's a close one. This was fucked up because I love Friday Night Lights. Why would you put it against So Far Gone? But I'm going So Far Gone. That's just unfair. Yeah. That Friday Night Lights would have to go against So Far Gone out the gate.
um but that leaves so far gone verse rich forever i'm going so far gone um cushion oj verse no ceilings hey whatever y'all say no no no don't do that don't do that baby these stand up and fight stand up and i'm going no ceilings but again that just i might be a slave to my era i might be a slave to my area i don't think y'all understand how much i listen to those yeah
Nah, I could kind of see the inspiration when you was getting that, homie.
Chapter 5: How does the conversation shift to the impact of mixtapes on music culture?
That was no ceilings energy. That was no ceilings aura. Come on, I know where that inspiration came from.
Oh, I literally said that my mixtape, in that clip, in that clip where I was dissing Derek, I said that my mixtape was coming called No Feelings. It was a play off No Ceilings. You think I forgot?
I heard all of that, baby. I heard you was really getting off at the end of that. I heard you let us know the mixtape was coming. I heard all of that.
Chapter 6: What are the implications of the J.P. Morgan executive's behavior?
Wait, so what was your lighter sound going to be? I don't know. The hot comb? Opening the scotch? No, the hot comb on the stove. The hot comb on the stove.
That's definitely her lighter flick.
Baby D was definitely going, you know, like, hot comb on the stove. You know, turn the stove on, put the hot comb on there. Yeah, I know.
Chapter 7: How is Joy Taylor's comment on men received online?
Yeah. Put that hot comb on the stove, Baby D. Yo, that's funny as shit. Um, I mean, just, I don't know. Kush and OJ changed so much. Again, that shit was like an album to me. Uh... I can't remember the last time I listened to Cushion O.J. I listened to No Ceilings regularly, but I'm still going Cushion O.J. objectively. Cushion O.J. probably for me. Alright, 2-1 there.
I prefer No Ceilings and it's not even remotely close, but if we're being objective here and not our personal opinions, yeah. Cushion O.J. was... That took over the fucking world. It changed the sound of music. It brought weed rap really, really back back and On radio? There's no wrong answer here. No, everything on here is incredible. You know what I'm saying? There's no wrong answer.
It's all about the mixtape that you like the best. All these mixtapes are classic mixtapes. They're better than a lot of rappers' best albums. A lot of their albums, these mixtapes are better than. You know what I'm saying? All right. Well, then that lands us with Kush and OJ versus So Far Gone. It's obvious. So Far Gone. I mean, So Far Gone. It's So Far Gone, yeah. Yeah.
But then, I mean, to your other point of just rappers rapping over other people's beats or originals, So Far Gone is closer to no ceilings than it is to Kush and OJ. As far as the original music? How many original songs are on So Far Gone? Like two, if that? But there's probably two major songs, though. Successful, for sure, which ended up being a single. And by the way, that's not like a slight.
No, no, I know what you're saying. He took... Was Best Ever had a sample? No, right? Okay, it was a Wayne song before and they took a hook and then Boy Wonder flipped the beat. So it was kind of flipping a Wayne song. It was just a Wayne song that people had not really heard. So it became like a smash single, but it was a Wayne flip.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
I don't count that as like a, I don't either. I hear you, but, but some people would, um, let's go through it. Let's realize, uh, he's still in a Vegas. That's original successful. Uh, let's call it off as a cover. November 18th. I believe that's, I mean, there's a sample, but I think it's an original song. Ignorant shit. Obviously a cover night off. Um, original say what's real cover.
Little bit cover. Best I ever had. Debatable. Unstoppable cover. Uptown original.
