Chapter 1: What is discussed at the start of this section?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human.
I'm Daniel Alarcón, and this is my friend who's much more famous than I am. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm John Green, co-host of the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel.
On our podcast The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important.
Listen to The Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Chapter 2: How do Rory and Mal reflect on their past year?
Yeah.
That's like top 100, no? Yeah. Maybe top 100. Yeah. Top 150.
Most popular? I'm talking about for our generation. Not of like... Ever.
I know what you're saying. Ever.
You know what I'm saying? But for our generation, songs that like shape and like are huge. I think it's a little bit higher than top 100.
Has TikTok got a hold of this record yet? TikTok is going to run this one into the fucking ground. I love when TikTok... So many old songs. I love when TikTok finds a new classic. Like... The fact that TikTok, all these kids just found out who Aaliyah is, is fucking hysterical.
No, the fact that all of these people just found out who Guy was.
I like.
That too. I'm like, yo, y'all just hearing this record? I used to skate every weekend to this record. What's the Guy challenge?

Chapter 3: What insights do they share about their mental health?
Once you know, like you said, self-awareness, once you know who you are, I mean, that's half the battle, you know what I'm saying? Because then you get to wake up like, you know, you're a good person. You know that you're doing positive things. You know that, you know, you're helping people.
You know that you're trying to create and you're trying to build and help other people, you know, reach their goals and things like that. I think once you do that and you just, you know, everything else falls into place and, you know, just take time for yourself and, you know, to just, you know, kind of like detach from everything and just, you know what I mean?
Just be at the end of the day, be a good person. I think that is like what really, really matters. Just was I a good person today?
You can be a good person, but sometimes past traumas and life experiences and whatever will have you thinking that you're not, will have you doubting that you're a good person. You'll do all the good work and you'll do the things that people tell you make you a good person. But if you don't feel that way inside, then that's a whole other.
Well, that's why I support you doing them to say I'm a good person.
Yeah, no, but that's, but that's not like, that's why I said self-awareness. You have to understand self and you have to be aware of yourself. Like in, you know, you have to look in the mirror and really face things like head on. Like that's why a lot of the times when I say like, I hear people say I'm fighting demons and I say, I don't know what that is because I really, I don't have any demons.
Like I never did anything fucked up in my life that's haunting me. Like I've been through traumatic shit. Yeah. Grew up in the hood. I've seen the craziest of crazy shit. I've seen, you know, family trauma and shit like that. And, you know, but I think that when you say demons and, you know, you have these things where you can't look at yourself in the mirror. I don't have that.
Well, that can be a demon, but demons aren't.
necessarily um past mistakes that you regret or like shame yourself for some people just literally their brain is chemically imbalanced and fight with themselves every single day oh no for sure not because of their actions for sure they could be fucking the greatest human being ever but still look in the mirror and feel a lot of fucking self-doubt oh no absolutely i understand that part and that's why i said self-awareness because if you are feeling that way

Chapter 4: What challenges come with starting a podcast?
do not get into this game please because this shit it makes you it puts you in front of everybody for everybody to just throw darts at you and tell you now to say whatever they want to say so if you're not built for that leave this podcast shit alone I'm going to just put that out there because people ask me all the time I want to start and I'm like you want to start a podcast great to me it sounds like you want to create something that's how I hear it you want to create you want to do something you want to start something right are you built for this type of shit that comes with it though
Because that's what you got to ask. Self-awareness. You got to ask yourself, am I built for that? If you're very sensitive, if you're very emotional, if you just struggle with your identity and don't know... Do not do this because this is not the game for you.
Chapter 5: How do emotions affect creators in the podcasting space?
Find another way to create. Maybe be a producer of a show or something like that. But this shit ain't for everybody.
Listen, as a producer... It's not for everybody.
I'm going to be honest.
Chapter 6: What advice is given about handling criticism in the industry?
As a producer of a show... No, because I'm telling you, people think that... It's still not easy.
People think that Rory and myself just sit here, turn the cameras and the mics on and just... There's way more that goes into this shit.
I saw a comment where somebody said, Maul is so weak, he says he needs a detox, but he doesn't even have a real job. And I was sitting up there like, oh, people think that this is easy.
Chapter 7: What new music releases are discussed?
They think we don't do research on the topics. They think that all of this is just like, we just come in here and we just talk. And that is so far from the truth.
I'm so weak.
Let him come sit here.
Let him come sit here. I want to see what they talk about for two hours.
If it's just like talking, go ahead.
See if people listen to you. Listen, I will never deter anyone's dreams. I'm not here to do that. Some people you should. Some people you should. You look back and you're like, all right, fam, you should have tried something else. But I'm weak. Okay, fine. You know, I get it, man. I think I've handled myself through a lot.
I mean, some of the things that some of these people fix their mouths to say about me, Man, if I wasn't the man I am today, you know, it would be videos of me, like, really cracking somebody upside they fucking head, man. Like, y'all would see me. Like, I would be one of them internet sensations where it's like, yo, this nigga's crazy. You'd be on TMZ.
You'd be the baby. What?
You'd be the baby. In the beginning, though... Did you watch Game? You watched Game on Drink Champs, right? Yeah. When he was saying, like, he thought this rap shit was, like, real. And he was reacting as if, like, rap beef. Like, oh, I didn't know this was just on wax. Yeah. Yeah. That was an early lesson I had to learn. Like, it's just the Internet shit. Like, oh, it's just the Internet.
