What’s the story behind Robert Kraft banning Macklemore from the Ed Sheeran tour?
Hello, welcome to the show. It is a Tuesday afternoon, and I'm so glad that you're all here. We're gonna be talking about American rapper and musician Macklemore's pro-Palestinian stance that may have just gotten him booted from Ed Sheeran's stadium tour. This all comes as a pro-Palestinian protester charged the field at Yankee Stadium at 9.11 p.m. on 9.11, which tells me that the pro-Palestinian movement has become more anti-American than anything else. Then a Chinese billionaire is trying to have as many children as he can via American surrogates to ensure American citizenship for his army. And Florida is leading the way to stop this madness. And I promised you my Waymo experience vlog. So I will deliver and we will discuss all of that and so much more coming up on this episode of Scrolling with Haley.
But first, I want you to subscribe. I don't care if you watch live on Rumble. I don't care if you watch live on YouTube. Everyone is talking about the future of our country, but we also need to talk about how we can help protect our own personal futures. And have you seen what gold and silver have been doing lately? The market rally has been wild. And if you've been considering adding physical gold or silver to your portfolio, this is the time to act.
That's why I'm so excited to welcome Goldco as our newest partner to Silverlock Media. I know there are other gold and silver companies out there in the podcast space, but in my opinion, GoldCo is hands down the best. They make it easy to help safeguard your hard-earned cash or rollover an existing IRA into physical metals. No stress, no hidden headaches, just peace of mind. Plus, they're offering an amazing deal, a free gold and silver kit, plus up to 10% back in bonus silver on qualified orders. Head to GoldCoRNC.com or call 833-669-GOLD. That's goldcornc.com or calling 833-669-GOLD. Performance may vary. You should always consult your financial and tax professional. Put your phones on. Do not disturb.
The show starts now.
So have you guys heard of Macklemore? Because he's been around for a while, but no one's really talked about him in a very long time. He went viral in 2012 for a song called Thrift Shop. And honestly, I haven't heard much of him since. Maybe one or two songs. He went viral for that song in 2020 that everyone was doing their social justice warrior crap to on TikTok. I totally forgot about
that
one. Yeah.
He like comes and goes pretty quickly. He
drops a very viral hit, and then he goes away for about 10 years, and then he comes back. And I guess he's back, and he's doing the whole political thing. But Andrew found a video that kind of encapsulates the social justice angle to Macklemore. I mean, he has really leaned into this in his career in the past, and he's doing it again. But here's the rundown.
2014 Grammys saw Macklemore and Ryan Lewis complete quite possibly the biggest robbery in Grammys history, along with taking home the coveted award for best rap album, as the heist defeated classic works such as Kanye West's Yeezus, Drake's Nothing Was the Same, Jay-Z's Magna Carta, and most importantly, Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, Mad City. But then Macklemore would also take home Best New Artist over Ed Sheeran, James Blake, Kacey Musgraves, and again Kendrick Lamar, in addition to winning Best Rap Performance over Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Kendrick, and once more Best Rap Song with Thrift Shop picked over Drake, Kanye, Jay-Z, and A$AP Rocky. Macklemore wound up taking home four of the most prestigious awards of the night.
Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar, who was nominated seven times for his masterpiece Good Kid, Mad City, left empty-handed with zero wins. It kinda sucks. I mean, I think we made a great album.
