What happened at the Travelers playoff involving Vik Hovland and Scottie Scheffler?

Big Randy 0:01
Be the right club. Be the right club today. Johnny, that's better than most. How about him? That is better than most.
Better than most! Expect anything different?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No Laying Up live show presented as always by Titleist. My name is Solly, joined by my esteemed colleague, Mr. TC. Hello, TC. Hey, Solly. How are you? I'm wonderful. Happy Sunday to you. Icarito Neil Schuster is here. Hello, Neil.
Neil Schuster 0:55
Gentlemen, greetings. Good evening. Fired up to be here.
Cecil Baldwin 0:59
Big Randy is here. Got the audio issue not even fixed, but he's here. Hello, Mr. Big.
Ed Gamble 1:05
Hi, guys. New studio. I'm up in Michigan. I'm trying this mic. The sound's actually coming through my ear pods. I told the guys, I'm like, I don't know what to do with my hands if I don't hold the mic. So apologies for the little late start, but great to be here.
Cecil Baldwin 1:21
We have an action-packed show for you here tonight. Going to talk a little Travelers, of course. KPMG Women's PGA. A few news items here. A little light on the news this week. If you missed it, we dove in deep on the changes that the PGA Tour announced earlier this week in an entirely separate episode in great detail. Talked to Matt McNeely about it. Talked to Tony Finau about it. That was Tuesday's episode. So if you're looking for... news and reaction to that one you'll find a lot of that in that one won't have a much a little follow-up on that uh stuff here we do not have a winner at the travelers as we go uh as the sunset on cromwell connecticut they could have gotten it in up here new jersey there's still enough light to play golf right now we're 30 minutes past when they wrapped it sally
Neil Schuster 2:01
Yeah, maybe send him 715 and then tell him to hurry so he can get maybe one platform. There was juice out there. I thought it would have been a good finish tonight. Yeah, we'll get there, but I'm disappointed in that decision.
Cecil Baldwin 2:14
There was juice there. Not a lot of juice as Hayden Yu won the KPMG Women's PGA. When the DS automobiles opened, Drew Nesbitt won the Memorial Health Championship. Before we get to that, Scotty Cameron's family of Phantom mallet putters has been expanded with two brand new models, the Phantom 3.2 and the Phantom 12, adding to the lineup's wide range of head shapes and neck configurations. Quick breakdown, the 3.2 is a compact, rounded mid mallet that features a plumbing neck for moderate toe flow. It's great for the players who prefer the look of the smaller mallet with softer contours. Also a great option if you're transitioning from a blade to a mallet. Then there's the 12. This has got the larger footprint and the lowest and deepest center of gravity of any phantom putter to maximize stability and forgiveness.
Cecil Baldwin 3:01
Both models deliver a softer feel with preserved feedback off the face. I have not tried one of these out. Have you guys tried either of these?
Neil Schuster 3:11
I did switch to a plumber's neck, and my toe flow is dialed right now. Is it? Yes. It was actually a big move for me. I'm thrilled with it. I got the ES 7.2.
Ed Gamble 3:20
Neil was trying to explain plumber's neck to me, and I'm like, I have no idea what this means. I'm actually in a Phantom 5, but these new models intrigue me. I might have, you know, I'm always looking for the next field, next big thing in these. Next honeymoon phase. Exactly.

Constant tinker, constant tinker. The Phantom 3.2 is in golf shops now. The 12 will be joining it on July 23rd. Titleist.com to learn more information. At the Travelers, Victor Hovland took a one-shot lead into the final round over Scotty Scheffler. He was struggling a little bit early. He went out and won over par, turned the lead back over to Scotty. But Scotty was kind of meh as well. He went out and evened one birdie and one bogey on the front. Birdie 10 and 14 to take a one-shot lead. Colin Morikawa around this time finished with a birdie shoot shot. A final round 61 to get in the house at 20 under. Right as the rain started absolutely dumping, went into a delay. Hovland responded off the delay, made a putt from off the green on 14 to pull within one.
Cecil Baldwin 4:18
Then he birdied 15 to tie it.
