Here's what went down at the John Deere, in case you missed it over the holiday weekend. Lucas Glover, Lee Hodges, they took a one-shot lead into the final round over Ben Coles, Jackson Suber, and Zach Blair. Ben Coles opened up at the front nine, 30, including an eagle at the second hole. Hit the brakes a little bit, though, going into the back nine. Chris Goddard also went out in 30. They made birdies on 10, 13, and 14. Goddard also made a very clutch up and down on the 17th hole to get to 20 under par. Ben Coles birdies the 14th, but then bogeys 15. Then it makes a bomb on 16, but failed to birdie the par five 17th hit a great tee shot down the middle of the fairway. And, uh, on 18 had one 75 in, uh, and he pulled badly pulled his approach shot into the water.
I believe it was only the second ball to reach the actual water. Second or third. Couldn't quite tell, uh, to go in the water there on 18 out of a field of about 79 guys, no balls, but the water on Saturday, I don't think to water was just not really in play there. Uh, Then would go on to miss a short putt to share second, following all the way back into a tie for third. Goddard wins by one over Max Homa, who shot a final round 64, including a 31 on the back nine.
