Be the right club. Be the right club today.
That's better than most. How about him? That is better than most.
Better than most! Expect anything different?
Ladies and gentlemen, it is Open Championship Week. Welcome back to the No Laying Up Podcast. Coming to you live, the official Open Championship preview show. I am Solly, joined by my esteemed colleague, DJ Pi. Hello, Pi Man.
hello solly good to be with you uh feeling a little bittersweet last one of the year it's uh it always sneaks up on you but it's gonna it's gonna be a great week i know it's like year seven of this 20 you know you know this being the last major and i still don't like it i don't like it i feel like we need this year more than ever doesn't it feel like we're missing it more this year than ever i know anyways we'll get through quickly mr tc the creator is here hello tc hey guys good to see you uh glory's last shot it's also forged by nature
exactly right the brand man is here mr big randy hello my friend how are you i'm good i'm good hello gentlemen We got a lot to talk about. We are going to be visiting our top storylines ahead of this week's Open Championship. We're going to look at some odds. DJ's got a little head-to-head prepared for us as well. And, of course, we're going to be making our picks to win, picks not to win. We usually do that on Wednesday. We're flipping that to Monday this week so we can draft our teams once Neil is back. He's playing a Met Am qualifier today and unable to join us, but we'll be five wide today. uh, come Wednesday to draft some teams for this week. Also, is he going to do his video? I know he hasn't done his video yet.
It's just, it's typical Schuster, you know, pay my desk is not always on time thing, uh, that he might be a little too committed to here, but yeah, he doesn't, he hasn't sent any reminders running on this one.
Is there an interest rate on this thing?
He hadn't followed up. He hadn't even indicated that he's actually going to do this because he's still debating whether or not he lost this thing. He's still in shock from having lost it very, very badly. At the U.S. Open, this week's live shows are brought to you by Titleist, the number one ball in golf and the number one ball at the Open Championship since records have been kept. Having a golf ball that performs in all kinds of conditions is a must this week. You need to be able to flight your ball down, hit it high, stop it quickly. When you need to get creative around the greens, add or take spin off. It just eliminates a huge variable. A lot, a lot of nominations we could put here for shots, specific shots.
We're excited to watch guys pull off this week, but it's not a crazy hole. I'm looking forward to number one a lot.
What are the show's goals and who is on the Open Championship preview panel?
I really want to see how guys, what guys do taking on that bunker and what kind of risks they take on off the tee. and coming that just all almost all awkward angles coming into that green and I got pretty overwhelmed by that shot when we were there just a few months ago and I don't think these guys are gonna have the same problem but I'm excited to see just stack that exactly up against the experience we just had of how they could hold that green bring it in from the left and with a little bit of cut spin or something like that any other shots sticking out to you TC I'm gonna give you two I know you're gonna try to list five give me I'll let you do two even though they're asking for one here
uh the second shot into 17. that's a green rules that's one of my favorites favorites out there i think the uh what's the little part three on the front two seven seven seven yeah seven seven is gonna be a delicious one especially if the wind gets up at all i'm hoping it does deej
Yeah, I think it's a little bit of a I-like-them-all situation, but hearing some of the guys that are out there already trying to bounce even wedges, land in wedges 10, 15 yards short. It's going to be a control-your-spin, big-boy-golf sort of week, I hope. So, you know, got to be in control of that golf ball.
