Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Giles Snyder. At the White House late today, President Trump signed a proclamation making Memphis the latest Democratic-led city to face a federal crackdown on crime.
Today, at the request of Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee, who's standing with us, as you know. I'm signing a presidential memorandum to establish the Memphis Safe Task Force.

The Trump administration is expected to file an appeal to the Supreme Court in an effort to keep her from the Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting that's set to kick off tomorrow.
