Amy Held, NPR News. More than 1,400 flights around the country have been canceled after the Trump administration ordered airports to cut flights as the FAA deals with a shortage of air traffic controllers who are working without pay. The FAA says the flights at 40 airports will be cut 10 percent on a phase-in basis as the government shutdown, now on its 39th day, continues.
