Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Noor Rahm. The House and Senate Armed Services Committees are looking into deadly military strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean. NPR's Luke Garrett reports this comes after reports that the Pentagon targeted survivors.

Committee leaders referenced a Washington Post report that a follow-up strike on survivors of an initial strike was conducted in keeping with Defense Secretary Pete Hex's order to kill everyone on the boats. NPR also confirmed this reporting. The Pentagon denied it. Senator Mark Kelly, an Arizona Democrat who sits on the committee, told CNN an investigation is needed.

Going after survivors in the water, that is clearly not lawful.

Fellow committee member Senator Mark Wayne Mullen, a Republican from Oklahoma, denied the reporting but said on CNN, These individuals don't care about the lives of our friends and families. Why do we care if we take them out in international water? The inquiries mark a rare case of oversight from the GOP-led Congress. Luke Garrett, NPR News, Washington.

President Trump's second term has had a frenetic pace, and not just when it comes to policy. As NPR's Tamara Keith reports, Trump's remodeling spree continues.

There's the Rose Garden, now more of a patio. The Oval Office, gilded from floor to ceiling. Trump's planned $300 billion ballroom. And now Trump has his sights set on the golf courses at Joint Base Andrews outside of Washington, D.C. Trump said he would be working with legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus shortly before the two went on an aerial tour of the site.

So we'll fix that up. Jack will be the architect and he'll design it. Two existing courses that are in very bad shape, so we can, for very little money, fix it up for the Air Force Base.

121.177 - 128.629 Tamara Keith

Trump normally golfs at his own courses, and it's not clear whether that would change once the on-base greens get an upgrade.
