What friendship rules do we need to build a strong, lasting village?

Gemma Mullins 0:00
You don't need to have a big friendship group to be

quote unquote connected or cool.
Gemma Mullins 0:03
Focus on just having quality friendships and seeking that and being that type of person to attract that kind of person and also putting yourself out there. If you want something, you gotta get up and you gotta fing

work for it.
Gemma Mullins 0:12
You can't change someone that is the way that they are. I would rather have like five really

close friends that know me to the depths of my

core. If someone is negative, like just say if it was a friend or just a random person online, I love blocking people. You guys know that.
Welcome back to the Oil Let's Talk Podcast. I'm Kate. And I'm Gemma, a space for no BS conversations for the women who want more. Now stop the watch. Stop the clock. Stop what you're doing. Stop what you're doing.
Kate Morris 0:38
Pay attention. We have a community walk. October eleventh, eight AM in Melbourne. Apologies. We're coming into state. We're doing things soon. That was a little Easter egg. Drop it in there. Whoa. But if you're a Melbourne girly, October eleventh Show notes, there is a link to register your interest to make sure you know what time, where and all of the good stuff to meet us. Think hot girl walk, coffee,
sun on our skin, catching up, catching up, couple hugs, getting to know each other better, good vibes.
Kate Morris 1:11
Is that all you got to say? Actually, to be honest, mic drop. That's all you need to know. Register your interest. Get there October eleventh. Give me a hug. Give us a hug.
Gemma Mullins 1:21
Yeah.
Kate Morris 1:21
Three way hug. Yeah. We can't three way hug.
Gemma Mullins 1:24
Honestly, I don't wanna hear I don't wanna hear about your excuses.
We're sick of it.
Gemma Mullins 1:28
I just want to see you there. That's it. Okay? You like you like our no BS approach and no BS to you getting to the walk, okay? Mother
Kate Morris 1:36
has spoken. Block it out. Guys, mother has spoken and you better listen. Yep.
Gemma Mullins 1:40
100%. Today we're getting into a fun episode. What's up? What's the problem?
Kate Morris 1:49
We're getting into a really fun episode today, but we are. Like it is really fun.
Gemma Mullins 1:52
Today we're getting into a fun episode all about friendship. Off the back of the fact that you girlies are always asking us friendship questions in our DMs. And whenever we do any type of topic related to friendship, our friendship, or the questions that you've submitted before, we always get a really good response. So we kind of wanted to cover that in more depth today, kind of going through how we would respond to different scenarios as well as get get to know a bit more about our particular friendship and like the dynamic of how things work, especially running A podcast or business, having a friendship, which is obviously our top priority. So we kind of want to break all of that down.
Kate Morris 2:28
And we also have some hard-hitting questions that we're gonna ask each other. Maybe they're gonna get deep. Maybe they're gonna get emotional. Maybe they're gonna be savage. You're gonna have to stick around and find out. Maybe K Moris is gonna cry. Maybe. I don't know. Dude, I don't cry very often. The only time I'll cry is like Over like animals. Oh yeah, I can't handle that.
Unknown 2:48
Yeah.
Gemma Mullins 2:48
Yeah.
Kate Morris 2:49
Or like my best friend just had a baby. I did cry, I sobbed like like a baby when I met the baby.
Gemma Mullins 2:53
I get that. That's an emotional that's emotional. Did you cry? I don't think I've seen you cry much other than that. Oh, you did cry in Bali once. You were quite vulnerable.
Kate Morris 3:02
You see, we cried so much. Remember the time I crashed out on FaceTime to you and I was bawling my eyes out on the staircase of my house and you filmed it. Yeah. Because you're like, this is good memories. Yeah. And then also when I was in Bali and I had dengue fever and I was half naked in the bathroom and I was bawling my eyes out.
Gemma Mullins 3:18
Yeah, I remember that. It's just really sad when like your strong friend cries. As in like, you know when people are typically like known for crying 'cause they're like quite emotional and things like that. And then there's like the friend that is like stoic. And apparently you're stoic and doesn't um cry very much. So when you cry, it's a big deal. Like you know something is going on. It's like a wounded deer.
