It is back to you on Monday's forward contract. Equipment Canada's premium heavy equipment dealer with rental and sales. We're just talking off mic here, Craig. Evan Bouchard, Darnell Nurse, going to represent Team Canada at the Worlds. Your thoughts? Yeah, fantastic. Because you've coached there too, right? You've coached at the Worlds.
Yeah, I went over. I've been there three times, twice as an assistant, once as a head coach. Mark Messier was the manager the year that I was a head coach. We went to Germany. We didn't do that great, but lost to the Russians in the quarterfinals, I think. But, no, I think it's great for those guys to get the experience. I mean, they both...
I don't think Darnell or Evan have played for Team Canada at the pro level. Has Darnell? I'd have to check. But they both, I mean, they played World Juniors.
Darnell was on that team in 2015 with McDavid that won. Won in Toronto. Won in Toronto. And then Boosh was in Vancouver in 2019. They lost to Finland, and he got hauled down in overtime, and Canada got a penalty shot. And they elected to go with their captain. who's currently playing in the KHL, a guy that didn't really pan out.
It was one of those things where Hockey Canada looked like at an older 2017 draft, and so they took the puck out of Bouchard's hands and let, remember the player? No. Come on, I told you it was. You told me. I mean, no. It's not right here.
Well, you know, the amazing thing is that you remember the player again. I mean, you have so much of that information up there. You don't have any room for things like common sense.
Right.
Maxime Comtois took the shot.

Chapter 2: What insights does Craig MacTavish share about coaching Team Canada?
Comme toi is forcing out the common sense part of your decision-making.
I'm thinking if Bouchard had just taken the shot Canada might have won the game against because he can shoot the puck. Well, they probably would have.
We had a penalty shot in the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006, which you'll remember well. There was a brilliant coaching decision on that. Yeah. And you were ready with the poison pen just to crucify me if that didn't work. And I knew Pronger would be... You know, not a shrieking violent for the moment. He was up for it, eh? He just came down there and shot it in the net.
And you're up 3-0 at that point. My buddy Ken Nichols and his dad, Cal, he was at the game. I was there for games 5 and 7. He texts me at 3-0, I want to win the cup. And I'm like, you never know. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. That was, right?
Yeah, and then a litany of bad things started to happen. Just unlucky.
And you've said it often. You think about it more now than you did even 15 years ago, eh?
I do. And then game two. Because we were definitely tougher. Yes. And so I was like giving our guys the Mark Messier line. We're playing the game tonight like the back of their net is boarded off because they took our goalie out. Andrew Ladd came in, took Roley out at the net. So we're going through the crease on every net drive. And Mark used to come in once in a while and say ā
stop going behind the net we go in front of the net play the game like clint anderson took him yeah yeah and craig simpson and craig simpson because they were tick yes and uh so for it i think i was more vigilante focused than i should have been and uh we end up losing that game but You know, we lost. You battled back. Yeah, we did.
You know, but we had a tough, hard-nosed team, and that's how we won a lot of our games.
