Hello and welcome along to Monday's World Cup Daily. I'm Phil Egan. Coming up today, Canada booked their spot in the last 16 thanks to a late winner in LA. We look ahead to more action at the tournament today with Brazil up against Japan and the Netherlands take on Morocco in two blockbuster clashes in the last 32. And after Saturday's less than impressive performance against Panama, can England really go all the way and win the World Cup? But first to last night, co-host Canada are into the last 16 of a World Cup for the first time in their history. Stefan Ustakio scored in the 92nd minute to give them a 1-0 win over South Africa and California. Manager Jesse Marsh hopes the way they got the win will give them some momentum going forward.
The timing of the goal means that the win is incredibly dramatic and I think the effect that it will have in Canada and the inspiring of people will be immense.
